F.P. Journe Octa Sport
F.P. Journe's affinity for aluminum and its incredible lightness of being continues with the new Octa Sport C the second creation in Journe's Sport line. It follows last year's Centigraphe Sport, the first watch created entirely from aluminum (movement, case, dial and bracelet). The new Octa Sport weighs in at a mere 53 grams, and its automatic movement tips the scale at only 11 grams. The Octa Sport does not use standard aluminum which is soft and which oxidizes. Rather, it uses an aluminum alloy used in aeronautics. To create fine timepieces using aluminum required Journe to perfect different methods of processing to make the aluminum scratch resistant and give it anti-corrosive and anti-allergic properties. Journe even produced alloys in appropriate colors to produce desired contrasts.Like all Journe watches, the Octa Sport movement maintains high horology standards. Though fashioned from aluminum alloy, the automatic caliber FPJ 1300-3 offers an adjustable-intertia, free-sprung bal

Newbie Speedy question
I have a newbie question about my new-to-me Speedy Snoopy (1861 movement). Is there any danger to the movement if I move the minute hand backward to correct the time since it runs a few seconds fast each day?I don't expect to have to do this often (I'm not fanatical about to-the-second time), but I would just as soon not move forward, say, 11 hrs and 58 minutes if it's eventually running two minutes fast if I don't have to. Thanks in advance.
Thanks guys!
Hi Guys,I'm currently looking at a pre owned 5164A-001 (dated early 2014).Everything looks good and am getting close to reaching a deal.I already have an AP 15400ST blue dial, while it's no 5711, I feel that it would be too similar in terms of wear, if i were to get the Nautilus, in addition to the 4-6K price difference to the 5164A.Now, the Aquanaut Travel Time at its price point, would be something I can wear often, as well as taking over travel duties from my Pepsi 16710.The 5164A slightly larger size compared to 5167 is somehow felt visually on my wrist. On paper, it is only 0.8mm larger but the left pushers probably plays a part in it having a larger wrist presence in addition to giving it a more balanced look.A few questions:1. I know it's rated at 120m. I regularly jump into the pool with any of my Rolexes without any hesitation. Can I do the same with the 5164A? Swimming is the only exercise I do when I travel so wouldn't want to worry about leaving the watch in the hotel room
