My A.P. Royal Oak
A.P. Royal Oak001.jpgMy photography skills aren't the greatest. I've been trying for days now to get a decent shot... hope this is the one. Just got the new custom made band from AP Bands. They're an on-line company that has them hand crafted in Italy to your specs. I chose the grey calf skin, mint geen stictching, and rubber backing, (the stitching goes really well with the lume). I still have the original clasp, but prefer the more rugged buckle for every day use.
just got my Bentley GMT in today
love it, I think it's better than any Rolex made!
Planet Ocean Casino Royale - Rubber Strap cracking (yet again)
Hi, amongst my collection of Omegas I have a 2006 Planet Ocean - Casino Royale, I like the watch but have a recurring problem....the rubber strap.Presently, the watch is on its third rubber strap and taking it off today noticed that just like its predecessor. the strap is beginning to crack and split in several places. I do not wear the watch everyday and always wash it and clean after swimming. I am somewhat bemused given that the straps retail at 230 and the AD's attitude is simply buy another strap !Has anyone else had a similar experience (all my other watches are on steel bracelets). Is it worth contacting Omega directly and seeing if they will offer some sort of compensation on what will be the fourth strap in 6 years ?
Omega now out with its Quantum of Solace limited
Reference number 222.30.46.20.01.001 is what you're looking for if you've got some spare cash lying around in today's economy and are in the market for the new Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean limited edition for Quantum of Solace, 45.5mm (but, of course).Odd sort of approach they seem to be taking in getting this word out. None the less, check out either the official Omega SA website or my blog for more details.
Not again!
First off, I love my 5167a Aquanaut for all the reasons Aquanaut owners rave about. It also runs with amazing accuracy to within 1 second per day. But today it went in for service - 20 weeks expected turnaround time - for the second time for sticking date. First time was at 17 months from new and under warranty, this time at the 11th month after the first fix and fortunately just under the 1 year service/repair warranty...Has anybody had the sticking date problem twice? Just curious. Looking on the bright side, will give some of my other watches more wrist time.
