Patek Philippe Opens New Production Facility in Le Brassus
Patek Philippe has opened a new production center in Le Brassus, near the heart of the Valle de Joux. The building houses three specialty workshops: Watchmaking, Fine Watchmaking and Restoration. Watchmaking specializes in setting up Patek Philippe perpetual calendar modules. The Fine Watchmaking workshop assembles, finishes, cases up, and sets the strikes for automatic winding minute repeaters. The Restoration workshop repairs and restores complicated timepieces. The facility houses 25 watchmakers: 12 in the Watchmaking Workshop, five in Fine Watchmaking, and eight in Restoration. The location allows Patek to be close to the Valle’s specialized schools and the skilled graduates they produce.
My first Breitling...
In 1999, my fianc and I walked into Feldmars, in Los Angeles. I was an Omega man, had been since my dad gave me his Speedmaster Professional in 1991...but was curious about Breitling. My fianc had a quartz Breitling, and was interested in a mechanical watch. We were just browsing, but spotted two watches of interest...an Old Navitimer II, dark blue dial, silver subdials, on a black crocodile strap, and a mid size Colt on a rubber strap. That Colt was mechanical, though the current line are all Superquartz. We got a great deal on the watches...the Navitimer went for a little under $3K...and left happy.I wore that watch the night 1999 turned into 2000, and on my wedding day and on the night my daughter was born. My wife and I have separated, amicably but irrevocably, but we still share a passion for fine watches.Over the years, I replaced the well worn croc strap with a Navitimer bracelet, then added a brown calf strap last year for a little variety. So, here is my first and ever favo
Best Way to get a 5524G
Hi all! I'm interested in buying a 5524G. I've long been interested in the watch and seeing the pics on the forum recently has me wanting to pull the trigger. With that said however, I know this is a difficult piece to get my hands on. I've gone to a few ADs that have told me they can't take any orders or put me on any list as they already have orders in that have yet to be fulfilled but have taken my contact info. Looking for any advice, other than going through the grey market, that anyone might have on how to get this? Thanks in advance everyone!
How long does it take to craft a Patek Philippe?
Just looking to educate myself on the actual brand of Patek Philippe, and how they assemble their watches etc, just to have an idea of how things work.I was asked by a friend why they were so expensive, and though I gave a fair explanation, I feel like I should know more about it, since I am looking to own one later this year! According to this website.Shoppist: How long does it take to craft a Patek watch?Stern: An example, a simple movement is minimum four years of work before you can present it. A complicated one, we’re talking about six years approximately. And a very complicated one, like a minute repeater or a tourbillon, this is about eight years. Is this legit?4 years for a simple three hand watch? From this site.phillymag/shoppist/20...ppe-president/Edit. Does anyone know where I can get exact information about their movements? How many parts, etc.?Thank you!
