I did the inevitable, burned a hole in my pocket again...
I did it again... Wasn't really interested in this piece at first due to the heft, but after seeing it on the wrist of a certain AP CEO here in HK and him taking it off for me to try again, I did the inevitable....Every time, I tell myself to stop buying, it just doesn't happen...I must say though, it's growing on me every second... The tantalum and rose gold is a great match this way. Not over blingy!
My conversation with a Swatch parts persn
So while removing a link from the bracelet of my moonphase I had the misfortune of dropping one of those tiny screws which are about the size of a gnats azz once they hit the floor your never finding them so I call swatch parts to order a few new screws the person I spoke to was probably one of the worst customer service people I have ever had to deal with here is just part of a conversation that went on for over 20 minutesHi I need to order some screws for bracelet #STZ 005669 I'm sorry there is no such part noBut I'm looking right at the bracelet that's the noSir we do not have a part 5998I said 5669Oh yes we have thatI need the screws that go on each side of the bracelet and hold the pins inYou need a linkNo just the screws Hang on..... how many pins do you needNo just the screws no pinsYou don't want the pins?No just the screws And this went on and on it took almost 10 minutes for her just get my mailing address right
Omega quality question.
My jeweler was telling me that he doesn't like the Seamaster because he says the stem can break easily. He has had to replace some in the past. Has anyone had problems with these before? Thanks,Scott
Aquanaut straps
Hi everyone,I have got a few questions about the aquanaut strap options.Might be able to pick some brains; thank you in advance forumers! The aquanaut 5167a has two variations; the strap and bracelet model. 1. On the earlier models of the Aquanaut 5167 (with the geneva seal); there has been concerns that the bracelet and strap options aren't interchangeable. Would any one be able to shed some light on this? this is due to two little metal tabs on the tropical strap.2. If i had a Aquanaut 5167 with the Geneva seal from 2008; would the a replacement strap purchased for a current model (PP seal) fit on the lugs?3. The Aquanaut came in two different seals; beginning with the Cal. 315 and then progressing to the Cal. 324. It appears that only the Cal. 324 models have had the sticky date issues. Can anyone confirm or deny this?4. The Aquanaut 5167 tropical strap is has a different width in comparison to the 5164 and are not compatible with each other. Is anyone about to share which codes are
116618LB but at what cost?
I've been wanting a 116618LB, ideally mint from 2015-2017 for low/mid 20s. A trusted grey dealer here in Boston says he can get me a new one for 28.5k, which is more than I'd want to pay for new. 27.4 would be 20% off msrp and more palatable, even if a few thousand more than a mint recent used one that I'm primarily looking for. Question is, do you think that's worth it at 28+? For me I think it's more the principle of the thing than the actual 1k difference off what I think would be fair for new. Should I stick to my guns and keep looking, or just go for it? A big consideration for myself is that I only pay cash and thus need to buy in person, ideally locally.
