Swarovski Octea Abyssal Automatic Watch
For the last few years I have really admired the collection of watches from Swarovski. They offered nicely designed quartz watches with a lot of cool personality and prices that aren't totally outrageous. The only problem was that they were all ladies watchesbummer. My favorite model was the Octea Sport. Last year, I heard a rumor that Swarovski was going to release new men's watches - it turned out to be true. For 2012, Swarovski gets three new watch families, all for men. My favorite is the Octea Abyssal Automatic - which is essentially a male version of the Octea Sport that is a super-looking watch for women. The toughest thing that these watches have going for them is the Swarovksi swan logo. You see it on the dial, on the crown, and on the case back. I guess the logo can grow on you, but it isn't very masculine - not that it was ever designed to be.When Chanel first released the J12 they likely had the same issuewhere men simply could not take men's Chanel watches seriously. Looking Into Buying My first AP
Hello everyone. I am looking into buying the ROO RGRC 42mm (I don't think i can pull off the 44 since my wrist is on the smaller side). As i never bought an AP before, I was wondering what kind of discount does the AP AD typically gives off the sticker price on such a watch? I hear its quite substantial? I haven't been to an AD yet to find out but i would like as much info as possible before i go.I think sticker price is $55K. Is that right? I saw some online (Brand New) going for $38K. Is there an advantage to buying from AD (other than 100% authenticity). Is the warranty void if bought online etc...?I appreciate the help on the above and any other info you guys think is important to know.
Finally feeling like a true member of the Patek Philippe Club
With the incoming of my first magazine copy... Decided to celebrate with a few shots of my 5164 and using the magazine as a backdrop:There's just something special about how that dial shimmers in sunlight and at different angles.
bracelet conversion
Hi all.Would the bracelet off of a 236 fit a 196? Except for the brushed case and black outlined hands, they seem to be identical..?
Remember Whittles?
If you remember a couple of months ago the email I received from Whittles Jewellers Preston about the details they have asked for and the fact they're planning to hold on to the warranty card for 12 months?Well I'm also on a waiting list for the same watch Hulk (I'm sure many of you are too?) with Pragnells. So I've just had a call from them asking the same details, also asking what I do for a living! They said that Rolex are asking them to do this and that Rolex are telling the AD to keep the warranty card for at least 12 months to try and stop people flipping them. And discuss!
