HourTime Show Watch Podcast Episode 112 - Back in the Saddle
We talk about Rolex's strategy of advertising on YouTube, the lack of new media savvy in the industry as a whole, then we delve into the extremely interesting Cartier ID2 air-free, transparent case concept watch with a power reserve of 32 days that you can't buy. The correct pronunciation of "Quixotic" is introduced into our running narrative. We also spend some time waxing poetic (again) on RGM's American-made timepieces.? And, Rolex does not use silicon in their watches.Listen to the HourTime show watch podcast episode 112 here. Download the MP3 here.
Vintage Connie PP or Seamaster?
I am on the fence: I have my eye on a really nice original 501 cal (19 J)Seamaster (1955) and a 1963 Connie Pie Pan (cal 561). I really like the style of the Seamaster (thick lugs, 2-toned silver dial with applied numerals on the 3,6,9 and 12), but like the pedigree of the Connie and its 561 movement. The Connie is quite nice too: silver dial with gold indices and hands. The Connie is $375 more (if the same price, I'd take the Connie hands down) and I can't make up my mind. Thoughts?
Watch Expo

233 dot dial discussion...
Can someone enlighten me on this? What's the attraction exactly? Is it because it was done away with that it's more appealing? Is there more to it...Looking at a newer 233 to purchase, but this dot dial thing has me a bit confused.thanks!
