Initial Impressions: Techne Sparrowhawk II
*Check out our full review of the Techne Sparrowhawk II here.?The Techn Sparrowhawk II is a watch that we've had on our radar for sometime, starting when the brand showed an early video of the watch's unique meca-quartz movement in action. A movement that combines quartz based time with a mechanical chronograph. So when they were fully unveiled not too long ago, we had to jump on getting a review model, which Franck J. of Techn kindly provided. There are a few reasons why we were so enthusiastic about the watch that we think our readers will be enthusiastic about it too.For one thing, the brand itself is fairly young, having been founded in 2009, and has a very different philosophy from other brands out there, a philosophy that worn&wound can certainly get behind. They believe in smart designs that blend function, history and strong aesthetics. They use movements and manufacturing processes that demonstrate a passion for innovation. They promote sustainability and good labor prac
Aqua Terra Movement?
Can someone tell me if the mid-size version of this watch has an ETA or true in house movement. Hate exposing my ignorance, but learning curve for Omega is still steep for me.
Why did such mania set in?
I have been a PP and Nautilus fan for a long long time. During many periods you could not give these things away. I have noticed that in the last 2-5 months that prices for certain things have just exploded. Just about every Nautilus s now hard to get and the same thing has happened with several Rolex sports models. You can't get a new Sea Dweller or Sky Dweller and Daytonas have gone back to their original scarcity as opposed to being the easiest hardest watch to get. A 5711 or 5712 is now like asking a dealer for a Daytona regardless of price. I actually talked to a watch sure owner yesterday who said I just won't deal in them anymore because it makes everyone unhappy. What the hell is going on??
Hulk on Hold!
Hoping for the best on Monday. One phone call and found a Hulk, two hours later another phone call and it's on hold for Monday. At a laser tag party with my son, otherwise I'd be at the AD now.Tomorrow is going to be a loooong day.
