The chronograph is a decidedly difficult complication to produce – that much we know. After all, up until about 15 years ago there were less than a handful of manually wound chronographs in existence. Another great tenet of watchmaking is that of the ultra-thin movement, a specialty practically owned these days but nobody but Piaget. It was last December that we caught a glimpse of a truly extraordinary timepiece – the Piaget Alitplano Chronograph – a manually wound, in-house chronograph with fly-back mechanism and GMT function that was only 8.24 mm thick. want to know what is the maximum discount available with the dealers for this piece?Also if I'm willing to pay full deposit upfront can I get a good deal? The old anthracite dial started out usd 41k but after a year or two there was considerable discount available. One week and I am confused but delighted with my 15400
This thread may sound like the ramblings of a broken mind, but I am wondering if any have felt the same. I have now had my new AP Ro 15400 for a week, and am loving it more each day.Maybe my brain was off the mark but in my thinking the RO was a sporty dress watch, and subconsciously I always thought of it as a historical 36mm watch in the same spirit as a Datejust or other SS dress watches. I viewed the Offshore as the big sports watches in the AP family. Having worn the 15400 now for a week, and as you do, constantly looked at my 7.5in wrist I have come to the conclusion that the 15400 is closer in spirit and size to the ROO than a traditional SS dress watch.This is not bad thing, but I have finally realised that this is a big watch on my wrist! The black dial has really gown on me which like all AP dials changes colour from black to silver to grey depending on the angle and light hitting it.No scratches yet, and it has been on a mini holiday as well this week, so must be doing some
