HourTime Show Watch Podcast Episode 20
In episode 20 of HourTime we talk about some of the great Bell & Ross watches of Basel 2010 as well as what a "Chronometer" is. I don't think there have been any Bell & Ross Chronometers though. Still, you are gonna love the Vintage BR 123 and 126 models, as well as the BR03-92 Military Ceramic. We also talk about the Eterna Kontiki Diver that was suddenly brushed under the rug and became the Porsche Design P'6780 Diver watch.Listen to HourTime Show watch podcast episode 20 here.
You're Invited: A Special Preview Of 'The Luxury Of Time: European Clocks And Watches' Exhibition At The Metropolitan Museum Of Art
It gives us great pleasure to say that we are able to offer, courtesy of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a limited number of invitations to an upcoming exhibition showcasing some of the most unusual, valuable, and remarkably beautiful timepieces ever made. "The Luxury of Time: European Clocks and Watches" preview will be held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art this Thursday, November 19th at 6:30 p.m. There will be a host of amazing, very rare and extremely historically important clocks and watches on hand, and the exhibition is being co-curated by the Met's Mrs. Clare Vincent, a 40-year veteran of the Met, and Associate Research Curator Ms. Elizabeth Sullivan. These are just a few examples of the treasures from the Metropolitan Museum of Art's collection. Above is a stunning clockwork celestial globe, made in Vienna in around 1579; like many of the clocks and watches in the exhibition this was a gift from J. Pierpont Morgan (in this case the gift was given in 1917).
Speedmaster Broad Arrow 3594 versus 60th anniversary
I'm looking really hard at both reissues of the classic first speedmaster, price considerations included, which would you gents prefer?Does the level of attention to detail to the original justify the difference in price?I'm not 100% convinced that one watch has the edge over the other.
Even a blind hog will root up an acorn occasionally
That was my dad's favorite saying when he lucked into something good. And that was my feeling when I captured this photo of my 2255.80:This morning, I was taking some lume shots of the PloProf. The bezel lume is fascinating to me and I started with this full dark photo:Then I allowed some light to capture some more watch detail:While examining this photo, I happened to click onOne Step Photo Fix and the lume really popped out of the watch:I'm admittedly not a great photographer like so many of you, especially my friend Bill (gaopa), but this one really spoke to me, another acorn if you will. How about sharing your acorns.Fr. John?
Your thoughts on the SS YM2
Hello Everyone! What do you guys think of the SS YM2 ? My brother wanna get it as his first Rolex! He does like big watches like Breitling, I saw it today at the boutique and it's way much better looking than pictures, but I honestly can't justify the price!!! you can almost get two watches instead! Is it worth it?Thank you so much and I hope you're having a great weekend!Cheers,
