Autodromo Prototipo Review
Autodromo is one of the brands that has really surprised us in the last couple of years. When we first saw their watches, we were thrilled by their unique designs, nothing being stock, and attention to detail. As the brand has matured, so have their designs and knowledge of watch making, which was very clear in their second offering, the limited edition Monoposto mechanical. One of our favorite pieces from last year, this utterly unique watch has character and finishing that far surpassed its sub-$1000 price point.Their newest line continues this trend of development with what will likely be their most popular watch to date, the Prototipo. Where the previous Autodromo watches were inspired by the history of Italian race cars, with elements translated into the watch components, the Prototipo is inspired by late 60's and 70's racing chronographs. These watches, namely those by Heuer, were inspired by the tracks and vehicles themselves, with lively designs that used color and form to recr
What should I do?
Hello TRF,I woke up and noticed the pin in my bracelet is coming out.. should I bring it to a local watchmaker or should I sent it to an official AP dealer to fix it?What do you guys think?Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
Self portrait with Diver.
Yes, poser shot, only marginally better than an iphone selfie (or worse maybe?)... but the Diver just looked so damn good I felt I should post.
Adding a little yellow to the rotation...
Well... I have been hanging out with VC way too much. I have been in search for a 5970J for about 3 months now. My search concluded today. I only found 3-4 5970J’s readily available and for sale in the world on this search. In contrast, I came across ~15 5970P's. If anyone wants a P let me know. Maybe I will be fortunate enough to add the P to my collection one day as well. I saw some good deals on pre-owned P. Many G’s and R’s were offered. I am not kidding. But for now the J is the latest addition!I want to thank SteelerFan and VC for their help. It is really nice to add the old (5970) to the new (5270). And some J to my G... I am going to have to agree with hutchman, the 5270 is a more advanced and exact watch from case to movement. The 5270 represents the present and the future. The 5970 represents the last of the past. And the J is fitting to me because it is the most “classic” of the 5970 references.About the 5970J… It debuted at Basel 2008
New Sub or Batman
Just wanting some thoughts from the forum. I'm a new forum member and I'm trying to decide between another sub or gmt batman. I've had three subs ( two tone black, black and the Kermit) and enjoyed all three. I sold the Kermit a while back and made a great profit from original purchase and used it partially toward another investment ('17 M3) Things have settled and I'm looking between another sub or the gmt batman to which I have never owned one. Thanks to all
