Omega Unveils Seamaster 15,000 Gauss, the World’s Most Antimagnetic Watch
Omega, which pioneered the use of innovative new materials and technologies in watchmaking, has introduced perhaps its most impressive technological accomplishment in recent years, the development of a wristwatch that is resistant to magnetic fields greater than 15,000 gauss, a level far exceeding that of any other watch. The announcement of the prototype watch, a Seamaster Aqua Terra model called the Omega Seamaster >15,000 Gauss, took place at a press conference in the penthouse of New York City’s? Setai building. The presentation, which included videos and a practical test involving real magnets, was conducted by Omega’s Stephen Urquhart and its vice-president and head of product development, Jean-Claude Monachon, along with Michel Willemin, CEO of the research-and-development lab ASULAB, and Thierry Conus, director of research and development at the movement-maker ETA. Blancpain Carrousel Minute Repeater Chronograph: First Watch With All Three Complications Together
Being the "brand of the carrousel," Blancpain's use of this close cousin to the tourbillon must someday find its way into anything they produce. Then again, they did recently produce the Carrousel Tourbillon watch (watches-dealer hands-on) that featured both complications in order to help distinguish them. Now, with the new Blancpain Carrousel Minute Repeater Chronograph, we see for the first time all three of the named complications together in one watch.Having built a solid foundation with the carrousel, first seen in the Blancpain Carrousel Volant Une Minute in 2008, and being no stranger to grand complications in general, Blancpain's latest creation showcases the brand's ability to design and execute the type of watch that elevates the watchmaker to the level of an artist. The carrousel is Blancpain's signature complication, as they are the only brand that has actively promoted and presented it to the market. A close cousin to the more common tourbillon, it goes about doing the same
Back again?????
An owner of a 41mm ROC i bought my wife a Lady oak at Christmas. We had some challenges with the Boutique and it put me off AP for a little while. My last purchase took me back to the everyone must have staple of DD2. After her initial reservations my wife is now loving her RO and in favour of the larger size has sold her daily beater 26mm DJ. She is now in the market for a new watch. I have been trying to push her towards PP but most of not all in my price range are Quartz. My preference for her remains ever reliable tand tough Rolex in 31 or 36 but she loves the Millenary lady in Pink gold 77301OR.ZZ.D015CR.01 My questions are:Has anyone had any exposure to this watch, unlike most other APs they appear to be thin on the ground in the preowned marketplace and I wonder as to whether that may be a testament. Is her SS RO really a daily beater ( the lack of screw in crown worries me) Should I get back into the world of AP or should I gently push her in another direction
Sea Dweller 4000 Shortest run ??
I'm curious , in the history of Rolex , would this be the shortest run ever or were more like this ? If it is , I would say this watch will be super collectible in the years to come. What is everyone's guess here ?
WG Blue SkyD vs SS Blue SkyD - Wider SS Oyster Bracelet Makes them look different
I know there are a lot of people who don't understand why anyone would purchase the WG version when the SS version is half the price...and the watches look the same.I have stated before that looks are just one aspect. The heft and feel of the WG version is completely different and at least to me, something that gives me great pleasure over the SS one.And of course, when you look at SS vs WG vs PT..they do look different...same color white but different hues and tones as to be identifiable to a trained eye but of course not easily detectable by the public. As I stated, I am fine with that. But, there is actually a difference between the WG and SS model in terms of appearance. The newer SS model has a newly designed oyster bracelet that fits into the lugs a little wider than the PM versions. It actually looks nicer than the PM bracelet. So, as with dial color etc on other models when it comes to SS vs PM.....the SkyD may have the same dial color and sticks between the SS and PM model.....but
