Philippe Dufour Interview: Why He Is Disappointed With Today's Watchmakers
For a guy who is generally revered by some of the most well-funded watch collectors in the world, Mr. Philippe Dufour is a pretty humble and approachable guy. It isn't that he doesn't have an ego C everyone with the ability to admire the fruits of their own work clearly has an understanding of exactly how good they are C but rather that Mr. Dufour is an advocate of hard work and dedication above all else (including how people perceive him). In fact, I would suggest that having a waiting list of orders a few years long and being able to politely say "no" to new requests makes having an ego totally unnecessary. Should Philippe have one of those days where he is questioning himself, no doubt all he needs to do is be reminded that if he lived another 100 years, his work schedule could be easily booked. What I've always personally liked about Philippe Dufour as a man is his straight-forward way of approaching watchmaking. None of the glitz or smoke and mirrors of today's watch industry even
Inside The Manufacture: A. Lange & S?hne Like You've Never Seen It Before (VIDEO)
There is something decidedly different about A. Lange & Söhne. You can feel it the first time you step inside any one of Lange's boutiques, or see the backside of a Datograph for the first time. There is quiet excellence everywhere. Each Lange watch is made entirely in-house, and has been for some time. In this original HODINKEE video, we take you inside the Lange manufacture in Glashütte for a look at what make this German brand so special. It should be noted that we were among the very last groups to be allowed to photograph and film inside the Lange manufacture – moving forward photography will be prohibited – which makes this look even more special. 1 OF 8 In my belief, the overwhelming adoration for Lange is many-fold. Sure, there is the unique architecture of their movements, the fact that the finishing of all watches – whether it be $20,000 or $2,000,000 – is to the highest levels, or it simply may be the way they treat the
Don't want to insult a friend..
Image1461414355.134168.jpgImage1461414367.056420.jpgImage1461414380.812819.jpgWe were talking watches yesterday and one of my friends pulled out his offshore. Now I don't want to insult him and because I am not 100 % sure I was hoping that one of you guys could help me out here.Or this is a very special piece..Or it's not even worth looking at it..The pushers, the 2 and 3...??My alarm bells are ringing..CAN SOMEONE HELP ME OUT HERE?He's not trying to sell me the watch or something like that and this friend has many good high end watches so to have a fake one is not his style. Therefore I am confused. Maybe he got ripped off. Also a pic of my 2014 Navy.I am getting the 44mm steel/ceramic soon :-)Love AP!Cheers!Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met behulp van Tapatalk
Where to Buy in FL -- SuperOcean Heritage
Looking for the best possible deal from an AD in the Tampa/Orlando area. Looking for a SuperOcean Heritage (black or white face) with the mesh bracelet. Best price quoted thus far from AD -- $3050. There has to be a better deal out there. Still a bit shy to go via non-AD's. Thanks
New Nautilus line soon?
I believe I saw on Instagram last week or so an invitation from Patek Philippe to a Nautilus launch event in June. I am trying to find that post again, but just can’t remember which profile had it. Did anyone get that? Is it official that there will be a new Nautilus line in two months to mark its 40th anniversary?
