Rau-Tech Custom Rolex And Other Watches Colorful Coatings
Rau-Tech is a German company that exists in the boutique world of high-end watch customization. This microcosm of horology is mostly proliferated by custom Rolex watches, which are becoming quite popular. One of the most common questions I have been getting from people all over the world is, "when will Rolex start to offer black colored watches?" They seem to feel that with all the custom Rolex watches out there with black cases, there seems to be a less-than-insignificant demand. That may be so, but I don't think that Rolex is going to start offering black-coated Submariners or other models now or anytime in the near future. Why? Well, think about it. Rolex is first and foremost about respecting their past. The first question they will ask themselves is, "have we offered back-colored watches in the past?" If the answer is "no," then they will move on. Of course, one can retort with the fact that in the past there were no particularly good ways of durably coating metal watches in black
Something a little different...
Hey guys, thought I'd share this new strap with you since it's new to me and a little out of the norm. My modest strap collection consists of: OEM Assolutamente, OEM Vintage Brown Gator, OEM Black Gator, ABP Special Tanning Honey Gator, Dirk 1994 Cognac, Dirk PAV 91, and a Micah Mauser. Yesterday, to my surprise, my fiance gifted me a British Green Toad strap from Combat Straps. Added to my collection, it's definitely the odd one of the bunch. I wore it today to break it in and so far I'm enjoying it. The strap itself is pretty well made and after a little handling, the stiffness quickly went away. The glossy leather backing is pretty comfortable so far, though I haven't tested it out in the blazing Houston heat yet. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I just wanted to share my opinions and some pics with the community. Enjoy!
Deepsea problem ..ideas?
Hello everyone I have owned my Deepsea about 8 years and wear intermittently it's never missed a beat. However it stopped last night. I just looked and I observed the second hand move ANTI clockwise for a few seconds then stopped again. Ideas please. Thanks SSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
GMT Pepsi Authentication
Hi, Looking to buy my first Rolex, And really want a 10yr or older GMT Master 2 pepsi bezel, But as it seems to cost a premium for a GMT with said Bezel I'm wondering if theres any way to identify an original from its serial etc. As I'm sure there have been people who've replaced the bezel insert for a Blue/Red one. Any help is kindly appreciated Regards Vince.
Fedex Shipping Insurance
Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but I recently sold a watch here on the forum, and I went into a Fedex store to ship it. I asked for insurance to cover the value of the watch ($5,000) and was told they only provide coverage up to $1,000. I was somewhat surprised as their website indicated otherwise. I called another Fedex office in another city and was told the same thing.....$1,000. So, I wound up using USPS.Some sellers on here use Fedex insured shipping, so I was just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience.
