Baume & Mercier Clifton Chronograph Complete Calendar (Updated with Live Photo and Prices)
Baume & Mercier launched its Clifton collection of men’s watches in 2013, and has been adding models to it in subsequent years. The latest Baume & Mercier Clifton, which debuts this week at SIHH, is the collection’s most complicated watch to date, combining two functions found in previous models, a chronograph and complete calendar. The Baume & Mercier Clifton Chronograph Complete Calendar, like all models in the Clifton collection, takes its design cues from the brand’s Golden Fifties watches, vintage pieces from the 1950s that are now preserved at the Baume & Mercier museum in Switzerland. Its 43-mm-diameter steel case has both polished and satin finishing and scratch-resistant sapphire crystals in the front and back. The elegantly balanced layout of the tricompax dial features blued steel hands (a hallmark of the collection) for the chronograph counter hands, a red-tipped pointer hand for the date, and subdials at 12, 6, and 9 o’clock. What ROO to complement ROC?
I have a black dialed ROC 25860 that I love and has got me thinking about condensing and upgrading my collection to include a 42mm ROO (small wrist so can't do 44mm). It seems to me the ROO would be the sporty watch but I'm not sure the pros and cons of a Rubberclad vs. Safari vs. Themes. I'm leaning towards a SS model with a light dial to complement my ROC. It looks like the rubber clad would be more scratch-resistant and the rubber strap would be great in the summer. The Safari looks great, can be dressed up or down with different bands, but I don't know how easily the bezel would scratch. And some of the themes watches just look like the safari with different colors/straps. I would almost certainly buy pre-owned from a TD or someone here/TimeZone. I'm not a huge fan of the only AD within 100 miles so they're out. Thanks as always for any guidance.
Would you trade a PAM 243 for a Planet Ocean C Chrono?
On the ropes on this one - Of course I understand this is an Omega sympathetic blog....Thoughts? -
Ever Lose Interest Waiting For Service?
I sent my Nautilus 3710 Comet to PP/Stern for service in June. Haven't got it back yet (don't worry, this is considered normal). While waiting this past half year plus, I've kinda lost interest in getting it back. I honestly cannot imagine feeling all warm and fuzzy when I see it again. Actually thinking of posting it for sale as soon as it arrives home (whenever that occurs...)So has anyone else lost interest in their Patek while waiting the long-a$$ time it took to service it?
232 stopped winding
These watches are beautiful, last serviced in 2015, I bought it used, and it stopped winding today, I'm guessing main spring.any idea on service cost now? I assume best plan is to go to Panerai for this?I've had my 005 service twice (once for condensation from a pool) I might have to go back to Rolex. my sub date takes a beating.
