Tried a Few Nice Pieces
While in London last week, I had the opportunity to try some great pieces in Wempe New Bond Street:- The new 44mm ROO in SS- ROO Jarno Trulli- also snuck in a PAM231No pics unfortunately, but I made some good decision making progress, also realising how skewed my thoughts on size have become, after wearing the Bronzo for a couple of weeks. So, the 44mm ROO is utterly fantastic. It didn't feel that big (see what I mean), but the only aspect that bugged me was that the shoulders almost overhung my wrist top to bottom. Its just a little to long for me, if that makes sense Lots has been said about the Trulli, so it was just nice to finally handle one. Felt a little dinky in the present company, but what a killer stealth piece. Then the shocker for me, as I really didn't get on with the 44mm Rad. Looks like I'll have to stick with the 1950 cases
Please help identify/appraise vintage Breitling
Hello allI recently came across a vintage Breitling that I've never seen before. I'm interested in purchasing the watch and like to know if anyone can help me identify it and/or give me a rough estimate of what it's worth. The case back reads 668840 but I have no other info on it. Thanks in advance!IMG_0029.JPGIMG_0030.JPGIMG_0031.JPGSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bezel Swap for SMP Chrono
I took my SMP out of my closet after it sat for over 10 years. I noticed that the bezel which is chrome with blue numbers and markers have been chipped off some so I purchased a knock off bezel for $20 from eBay. The seller states the swap will be easy and will not require nothing more than a pocket knife. Well, I was able to remove the bezel with numerous tries, but can't seem to budge the insert off. I tried for half an hour and finally gave up. I am going to bring it to a jewelry store that offers watch repair to see if they can do the swap. Has anyone tried to do this themselves? Or have taken it to a repair shop for the job? Here is a pic of my watch.
5167 stainless vs rubber
This may be a stupid question but I randomly found a dealer that had a 5167 in stainless at an AD near me I'm picking up tomorrow. I inquired about the rubber strap and understand that with the clasp can run as much as another 2500. So I'd be 23.3 with tax + another 2.5 or 25.8k all in. I assume there no arb to buy the rubber 5167 then get stainless bracelet, but that would put the stainless bracelet at 6-7k. Not the end of the world either way but random question I figured I'd check. I'll have to post pics of the watch tomorrow my first Patek and am pumped.
