New Basel release Navitimer 1461 Limited Edition
I took these shots for a friend who picked up this watch but he's already decided to sell it. It's a great watch and wears very comfortable. It looks great on the croc strap, but I think it would look even better on the bracelet. Thoughts?
Omega Constellatiom
Hi all I have been given a gift of an Omega Constellation 12023000. The watch is stainless with gold bars and was purchased in 2001. I am a newbie to the TRF however I have just bought a Seadweller from OCRolexguy. I have no idea about Omegas. Can anyone tell me about the watch, what it may be perhaps worth and if it's worth keeping - to be honest it's not my cup of tea
Co-axial movement?
How reliable is this movement, I heard some people had issues? It is a 42mm Planet Ocean. thanks
Fascinating article
The fascinating part of it is not the comparison between the 3 chronographs, IMO, but the brief history about the high end brands and their view on the way to make watches, that you could find the same base caliber in a 1500$ Speedster as in a high end Patek, of course the movement of the two after being redesigned and decorated had nothing in common. So maybe Patek doesn't have the same finishing it once had, personally I have no idea, as I never looked at a 20 year old Patek movement under times 4 magnification, and at a modern movement of the same complications and price. Many want in-house movements over outsourced, but the models going for the highest prices at auction, whether Patek or Panerai, were outsourced...Anyways hope you find the article interesting...https://.hodinkee/articles/pa...harmony-review
Tiffany Co-Brand... Deal / No Deal ?!?
Here is the issue... the SF Patek location has three pieces that are on my short list... PP 5205G, PP 5396G and PP 5227G. The issue is that I have been looking for a 5227 for a while and I would like either a 5205 or 5396 as well. I could buy now or wait. If I buy from Tiffany there is no discount, nada ! The benefit is that the dial of each piece is co branded with the Tiffany name which is unique and cool IMO. I don't plan on selling any of these but rather pass down, but if I did sell, the fact they have the Tiffany name on the dial I was told would command a premium aftermarket. Don't know if that is true but there. To sweeten the deal, the salesperson told me he would throw in a fold over clasp for the 5227 and 5205 at no additional cost (5396 already has the fold over clasp) and add two additional alligator straps at no additional cost. Now, I have no issue buying at full price to get what I want now, but my concern is that god forbid, something happens to the Tiffany name
