Omega Speedmaster '57 'Retro Dial' Watch For 2015
It happened only two years ago, at Baselworld 2013, that Omega lunched the Omega Speedmaster '57 Co-Axial, a tribute to the original, pre-Moon-Watch Speedmaster. Now, for 2015, we see a slightly updated version that brings the Omega Speedmaster '57 tribute closer than it has ever been to the Daddy of all Speedmasters. Without further ado, let's see?just how close you can really get in the new millennium to owning the real deal from the mid 20th century. The answer, in short, is: very. We covered the 2013 "re-release" here, and while that appeared to have ticked most of the boxes, Omega managed to inch even closer to the original this time around.?First thing's first, we created the collage that you see above, comparing the 2015 and the 1957 versions.?We must note the obvious: the original's tri-compax sub-dial layout has been replaced with a bi-compax design for the 21st century version, thanks to the 9300 in-house movement C visible through the sapphire caseback C that packs the chrono
Lady RO / AD in London
Thinking of buying a piece for my fiance to match my diver and 15400. Went to the local AD and after trying on the RO 33mm and the 37mm, she much prefers the 33m as it fits her small wrist much better. But as a watch lover myself, I am quite bothered by the fact that the 33mm is not mechanical!! Have any of you guys gone thru the same dilemma? Can anyone kindly recommend a good AD in London as I will be coming over end of month from Hong Kong and I suspect pricing should be better in UK. Is there an AP boutique in Heathrow? Any idea whether they can offer discount?
Diver for Rubberclad ?
Simple proposition: Should I trade my SS Diver on AP bracelet for a black faced Rubberclad ?I love the diver but need a daily wearer and the diver seems to be a scratch magnet !TIA for all your thoughts. PS. I do have a Panda in the stable as well.
