New Panerai Caliber P.999 Powers Radiomir 42 mm
At SIHH Officine Panerai presented the P.999, a new hand-wound mechanical movement entirely designed, developed and produced at the Neuchatel manufacture. The new movement has a 12 ligne or 27.44 mm diameter, making it suitable for Panerai’s smaller timepieces like the Radiomir 42 mm. Caliber P.999 has 19 jewels, a single barrel providing a 60-hour power reserve and small seconds at 9 o'clock. It is comprised of 154 components and beats at 3 Hz or 21,600 alternations/hour. Equipped with adjusting screws, the balance wheel is protected by an Incabloc anti-shock device. This caliber is available in 2 versions: P.999 has a swan neck regulator and polished edges, and P.999/1 has raquette adjustment and sand-blasted edges, and these movements are individually numbered.The Radiomir 42mm has a polished steel case, screw-down crown, sapphire display back, and a 1.5 mm thick anti-reflective sapphire crystal. Finally joined the AP Club
New black 15400 thanks to David SW. I spent a long time looking for a Grail watch to celebrate the year 2016. It was a significant wedding and work anniversary and I considered a lot of different watches. I thought I wanted a DaytonaC since it was released this year but my AD is giving me the runaround. I considered the 15202 but it was too small/thin (sorry purists).I considered the 15300 but couldn't find one and didn't care for the non color matching date wheel if I didn't get white.I considered the 5711 but still haven't been able to try one on, but luckily I didn't really like the similar sized 5726. Sadly the treatment I got at all the Patek dealers was off-putting. I mean, how important do I have to be to spend $25k on a stainless watch.The closest runner up was the Aquanaut but I didn't like it on the bracelet. The 5167 on rubber may be my next piece but I figured for this much money, the watch ought to be a little flashy.Pics or it didn't happenimage.jpg

The long wait is over. It's finally here!
I've sold my Speedy to realize that I made a mistake. I ordered a brand new one from the FAD and I just received it in the mail. She is still a virgin. I put her on NATO strap so I won't scratch up the new band. Enjoy the pictures. It's a small collection but I think I'm off to a good start for a hobby that will last a lifetime.

Yes, we've heard whispers that it exists. Some even thought they saw photographs of it. But I haven't seen anyone see it in the wild, nor have I seen photos that convinced me that yes, the 5711P did exist.Then, along comes Xavier from PuristSPro (foversta), posting these two pictures from a Patek event in Paris.It's like walking around in the forest and seeing a unicorn. Cape cod?
I got cape cod coming. Got a small scratch on the bezel which appears when under direct light. It's annoying. Shall I cape cod it? Or leave it? And no I won't sell it or omg it's a tool watch wear it like it's worn no. I like to keep my things looking pristine.
