Sinn EZM9 TESTAF Watch
For 2014, German tool watch maker Sinn has released a new piece in its EZM collection called the Sinn EZM9 TESTAF. What you have here is an interesting watch that is meant for pilots, but really wants to be a dive watch. Essentially, the Sinn EZM9 is a three-hand version of the 2012 EZM10 (hands-on here). We loved the EZM10 and our appreciation extends to the EZM9, even though it is among the pricier three-hand Sinn timepieces out there. As part of the EZM "Einsatzzeitmesser" collection, this Sinn is built to last and perform just that much better than others. Having said that, this model doesn't have Sinn's Diapal technology (discussed here), like the EZM10 - which is a lubricant-free part of the movement. Then again, no three-hand Sinn watches have Diapal as of yet, so it isn't that big of a deal. Nevertheless, there are some really impressive features in the Sinn EZM9. Inside the watch is a Swiss Sellita SW200 automatic movement (which is more or less the same as an ETA 2824).The 44m
Alfex Pazzola Giant Alarm Watch For Its 60th Anniversary
Alfex has been around for 60 years and you still haven't heard of them? I don't care that they are hard to find, especially in America. It is a cool brand, and this 60th anniversary piece is actually very unlike them, though it is handsome. Typically, the brand produces interesting minimalist designs. This is a more technologically inspired watch with a lot of classic elements, such as the case shape and crowns. The watch itself was designed by Marcus Eilinger, and Alfex is confident that it will become an icon. The Pazzola Giant Alarm is going to be offered in a limited edition of 600 pieces. The Pazzola Giant Alarm watch, is not exactly "giant" in size, but it is big for the company as it is their first mechanical alarm watch that is skeletonized and features a alarm time disc. The movement is the manually-wound, MC 96.1, 12? calibre with C?tes de Genve polished bridges, circular-grained lower plates, and a 38-hour power reserve. Mechanical alarm watches have never been the loudest
Review: Lm-Tec M33 Phantom Chronograph
Where do I even begin to discuss the M33? When I first saw the Lm-Tec M33, lurking in a watch forum somewhere, I immediately knew that I had discovered something special. When browsing watch sites and forums one tends to see similar trends played out in only a handful of ways, but the M33 really stood out as a unique take on the phantom watch. At the time, I had not heard of Lm-Tec, and upon surface digging about the brand, I was amazed at what I saw. A small and relatively young Ohio based brand dedicated to affordable and unique limited edition watches built with the highest standards. A brand that posts designs on forums, takes feedback directly from consumers, and tweaks their designs accordingly. A watch brand that, in ways, embodies what we here at W&W believe watches are about: style, quality and value. ?So, I knew this was a watch I needed to add to my collection.Case: 316L Stainless Steel with Titanium Carbide dark charcoal PVD hard coatingMovement: Miyota OS20 Quartz Ch
Buying an Omega
I have an itch to buy another watch. Looking at the Omega line. I've seen Speedmaster Professional and Speedmaster Automatic, and different calibers of the Professional. Anyone care to give me the Readers' Digest primer on Omega's?
How many winds
Loving my new 5990 however it's my first super high end brand and I am a bit unsure on winding. My rolex have typically had a 40-50 rotation wind however the instruction on the Patek suggests 10 - is this correct and can you over wind a modern watch
