You first heard about the Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic True Second here on HODINKEE back in September, and the watch, as you would expect from a descendant from the original Geophysic – one of the most famous cult-collectible watches not only from JLC but of all time – generated a lot of excitement. The earlier Geophysic 1958 models, from 2014, which you can take a look at here if you need a quick refresher, were a real crowd pleaser, as you would expect from their very close resemblance to the original 1958 chronometer grade, antimagnetic (to 600 Gauss) watches made to celebrate the International Geophysical Year. 15300 to 5711, would you ?
Hi guys.I have been tempted lately by a little devil. I am thinking of maybe trading the 15300 white dial for a PP5711 white dial. Reason is not a financial one, it is mainly that I am not a man of many watches and I am thinking of diverting the funds for a datograph later on. Collection would be 2 to 3 watches at most but looking for true gems.Would you, would you not and the reason for it. Not that I don't like my 15300, far from it, I love it ! I am just thinking of jumping on the Patek world with a nice opportunity I have. I have always admired Patek for craftsmanship, exclusivity, under the radar and absolute beauty. Same apply to my AP in my opinion, but I am considering this opportunity I have.Let me know what you think.
