Gilt Michael Bastian Smartwatch Engineered By Hewlett-Packard?
The?vast?potential?of?the smartwatch market is apparently now bringing some complete outsiders to this 21st century branch?of watchmaking. One of these early adopters is?Giltwatches-dealer, a major, US-based online shopping site?that just announced it is teaming up with designer Michael Bastian and tech-giant Hewlett-Packard to design and engineer what will officially C and somewhat weirdly C be called the Michael Bastian Smartwatch. As most of the news about smartwatches does at this point, the Michael Bastian Smartwatch promises us the world and some more C but whether or not it will deliver is something we will only see at the end of the year. Gilt opted to announce their first watch with just two rather secretive images, which makes believing their high hopes all the more difficult.?Before getting to the rather?optimistic?list of features and promises of Gilt's first?smartwatch, however, let's take a step back to see what?are the reasons for us?to remain highly realistic when it com
A History of Tissot
What do a 140 year old Russian Czar and Racer Danica Patrick have in common? These days Tissot is known for its sponsorship of racers like NASCAR's Danica Patrick, and for its unique, high-tech / high touch (couldn't resist) T-Touch watches. But the brand has a history as storied as any of its contemporaries, being founded at the half-way point of the 19th Century, selling watches throughout pre-WWI Czarist Russia, and being half of the 1930 merger with Omega which formed the Pre-Swatch Group SSIH.That merger and its 50+ year aftermath is probably what saved Tissot's bacon, and enabled it to remain the current and innovative brand we know today.Early HistoryChs Tissot & Fils was founded in Le Locle, in the Jura region of Switzerland in 1853 by the locally born & bred father-son duo of Charles-Flicien Tissot and Charles-mile Tissot. As with most Swiss watch companies founded in that era, Tissot began life as a comptoir, an assembler of parts procured from individual makers in t
The Diver takes on a shark!
Okay, so it's a sleeping nurse shark (my wife is far more dangerous in her natural habitat), but even so, my son thought I was pretty cool for touching the damn thing. In case anyone's curious, it felt like sandpaper. And yes, the Diver handled the mission with nary a hitch. Regards,Adam
New Speedy 57
My AD called me today to come see what had arrived. I didn't realize this was a color combo that was released for the 9300 version of the '57. I had only seen the white/blue and black combos. I have to say that this color version is stunning. They also put it on the polished/brushed Aqua Terra bracelet which makes me want to get the same bracelet for my Speedy 9300. The price tag on the new '57 is $9,200. Which, in short--is insane.Wears MUCH bigger than the 41.5 size.Overall...I think it is beautiful. Full exhibition back too--no steel.
Boredom, Speedy and a Camera Phone
Add those together and you end up with inferior pics of a superior watch.
