Which first AP to get and what to trade?
Hi everyone, I'm comsidering my first AP and was wondering what's the difference in these two David SW has for sale? Also, what do you recommend I trade towards it from my small collection? I'm definitely keeping my gold GMT, but not sure what else I should hold on to. How do APs wear? Does anyone have this particular model I'm interested in? I have a 7 inch wrist. Apologize for all the questions, but I want to be informed as much as possible before pulling the trigger. Watches are listed in my signature. Thanks, davidsw/product/audemars-...ak-offshore-6/davidsw/product/audemars-...re-panda-dial/
Fascinating article
The fascinating part of it is not the comparison between the 3 chronographs, IMO, but the brief history about the high end brands and their view on the way to make watches, that you could find the same base caliber in a 1500$ Speedster as in a high end Patek, of course the movement of the two after being redesigned and decorated had nothing in common. So maybe Patek doesn't have the same finishing it once had, personally I have no idea, as I never looked at a 20 year old Patek movement under times 4 magnification, and at a modern movement of the same complications and price. Many want in-house movements over outsourced, but the models going for the highest prices at auction, whether Patek or Panerai, were outsourced...Anyways hope you find the article interesting...https://.hodinkee/articles/pa...harmony-review
History of my 243
Gents, I am trying to find out about my watch. It is an I series 2006 243. Purchased by the original owner at Tourneau in N.Y back in Dec 2006. At some point in its life it has been PVD coated and when I purchased some time ago it was unworn. I am trying to establish where and when the PVD was applied. I will get some pictures up over the weekend.Hope someone can help.Cheers.
Dress Watch
I currently have a Milgauss, Explorer 2 and a Railmaster. I wear the Railmaster on a leather strap as my de facto dress watch but I don't believe it's a proper dress watch. My leading candidate is the JLC Master Control. I'm also considering the Cellini Time, but it'd be a stretch used. The new JLC looks to be about half the price of a used Cellini.Anyone with experience with these two watches? Anything else I should be considering in the $4000 to $8000 range?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
More new ADs "rules" for sports and limited editions
I forgot to mention when at Tudor in Harrods on Thursday this week,,,, Once my new warranty card was swiped i was aware whilst i was looking at the new Tudor box that i noticed the young girl staff member fiddling with the tags,, they were removed and initially i thought they were removed to enable the bracelet to be sized and when i choose not to have it sized ,, the young girl who seemed a new staff member? then forgot to put the tags into the box possibly? after Tudor then asked if it was ok to take a picture of the watch and my Reciept for payment which of course has all the watches info,,, i think now they may have kept the tags and picture of purchase reciept and watch as another way to stop pieces being flipped asap for profit and /or finding out who flipped the piece asap for profit,,, Maybe it was just an oversight from the new staff member? and she just plain forgot to put the tags into box but the picture take
