Union Glash��tte Belisar GMT
Union Glash��tte introduces the newest member of the Belisar family. The new 41mm GMT joins the Chronograph, Power Reserve and Big Date models. The dial is a paradigm of clarity with the second time zone indicated by a 24-hour hand distinguished by its signal-red tip. The GMT hand points to an outer, beveled dial ring. The hands and inner hours indicators have a superluminova coating for good visibility at night. The dial is finished in gleaming silver with sunburst finish and it sits beneath a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. The date indication is located at six o’clock. All Belisar timepieces are powered by high-quality ETA movements, manufactured and finished in Glash��tte. The exclusive Union Glash��tte rotor is finished with the company’s skeletonized brand lettering and Glash��tte stripes. No doubt it is cool. It is also wildly expensive and a showpiece above all else. This new highly limited edition watch from Richard Mille is the RM 056 and comes in an all sapphire crystal case. It is very visually intriguing and costs a mere $1,650,000. Probably easier to laugh about the price rather than get upset.According to Richard Mille it requires over 1000 hours to produce the case of the watch. The case is identical to that of previous Richard Mille Felipe Massa pieces. The movement is also an updated evolution on that RM 008 caliber. Only the case is in sapphire crystal and the movement layout and architecture have changed a bit. 1000 hours is a long time. I would hate to ask how long it would take for a new case if you need it to be repaired.The full name of the watch is the RM 056 Felipe Massa Sapphire Tourbillon Split Seconds Competition Chronograph. This was an interesting Doxa. Mainly because it was different than their diving watch line - which is at least all I know Doxa for in the modern sense. I've heard people complain about how Doxa watches are overpriced. That might be so, but they have been around for a while, and they made decent watches.
