Louis Chevrolet Driver 1911 Watch
Yes, there is a watch company named after the guy who started Chevrolet - the same GM Chevrolet car maker. American icon Chevrolet has Swiss origins. Louis-Joseph Chevrolet, was a Swiss race car driver that founded along with William Durant the Chevrolet Motor Car Company back in 1911. In just 6 short years it was bought by General Motors. They must have been doing something right!A few years ago the Louis Chevrolet watch company sprouted up in Switzerland. GM was pretty irked about this and the use of the Chevrolet name by the watch company and some legal matters ensued. In the end GM backed down - realizing there was no point fighting a small Swiss watch maker that could only help the automotive brand, not hurt it. As such Louis Chevrolet makes about 1000 watches a year with plans on making up to 5000 a year. Prices for the watches aren't too bad at between about $1000 - $8000 a piece. You can see some images of the brand's watches that I snapped here in the article. Some of their wa

Incoming from Tony(JUSTROLEXES)!! Got the Blues!!
I spent years wanting a Daytona 116520 black dial, it's a large chunk of change for a watch, a nice-to-have, and I always kept putting off till next week, or next month, which turned into next year, yada yada yada. Then I'd get the bug again and look at Submariner's, thinking it's a little easier pill to swallow, then waffle again to just bite the bullet and wait to pay for the Daytona.Toss in during the years a Tag, an Omega SM, and a Longines, all Chrono's, to lighten the symptoms but never cure the disease.... Recently looking through this fantastic site, I came really, really close to the Datejust 41, smooth bezel, blue face as my next watch, but always heard this voice in my head:How can you own a Rolex without owning a Submariner? And then I saw a Rolex Bluesy, and much research began, and I realized I had to have the 5 Digit 16613 Bluesy...took my breath away, and it completes me.....The countdown begins, from San Diego to Toronto....tracking to be at my door by tomorrow afternoon
New models - How does it work and how do I get one?
I've been on a few lists here in the UK for a Batman for a while now. Now with Basel coming up and the potential for new models, I'm starting to fantasise about not having to wait until old ages before getting my hands on a SS sports watch.Being a fairly new Rolex fan, this is my first time being around for new models to drop. Would be interesting to hear a bit about how the process normally plays out and how I can put myself in the best position for getting one of the new models if they release something that I like. When and how during the fair does Rolex normally release new models? Are there any tips on how to snatch one if they do release something that I fancy? Should I jump on the phone to a few AD's or might there even be a chance to snatch one up in store around release day since there is potentially no waiting list?
