Magrette Regattare Bronze Watch
The newest limited edition watch from New Zealand based Magrette is this Regattare Bronze (technically called the Ragattare Vintage Bronze), and there is a lot to love here. The Regattare collection is one of Magrette's mainstay models that have seen numerous versions and revisions over the years. Now in bronze, collectors and style aficionado's get an interesting case material option at+ a solid price.Bronze is not typically used for watch cases but 2010 and 2011 saw a range of bronze watches being released for the collector's market. It would be a tough material to sell to the mainstream given the metal's tendency to oxidize - which is exactly why some collector's like the material though. Bronze develops a patina over time (not that much time) that appears like discoloration on the metal. This is valued to some collectors as their watch will not only look unique (no two age the same) but also because the aging will help the timepiece look like a vintage item. For the 44mm wide Regatt
Bell & Ross BR01-92 & 94 All Carbon Fiber Watches
Indulge in a venerable orgy of carbon fiber as it caresses your wrist and arouses your eyes. I just made myself laugh with that last comment. But really, for carbon fiber watch lovers, you'll be happy to know Bell & Ross is there for you. In more ways one?? - case, strap, and dial. New in this BR01 limited edition watch collection are two all carbon fiber watch. The BR01-92 (three hand) and BR01-94 (chronograph). You'll further notice that the watches pick up the "Pro" styling that was first seen in the BR01-94 Pro Titanium watch discussed here. All of the important parts of this watch in are carbon fiber, and I've never seen a watch so decked out in the material before. I wonder how light it is? Bell & Ross suggest that it is very light. Probably lighter that titanium watches, with the sapphire crystal, movement, and caseback being the heaviest parts. The case and dial are made from several layers of carbon fiber. You know I am not the biggest fan of all carbon fiber watches, b
Flip 5711 and add cash for an AP 15202 + PP 5167?
Is this something you would do?I own a blue 5711 which I really enjoy wearing, and do love a lot, but really can't get over the AP 15202. The octagonal design, the screws, and the movement, with the dial, just make a really cool watch. I don't think it makes much sense having both these pieces in a small collection of 4 watches, as they serve the same purpose.Would you flip, and add cash, for an AP Jumbo and Patek aqua on rubber?Or would you keep the 5711, and eventually add something else that catches your eye?
Joined the Panerai Club
Happy to have joined the Panerai club with a new to me PAM512. I had taken a hard look at this about three years ago, but for what ever reason went in a different direction then. Have only worn it for a day so far, but it has me wondering why I waited so long.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
