I've Settled on the 39mm Railmaster . . .
My 1987 Rolex 16013 was my 24/7 watch from 1987 until December 2009 when I placed it in semi-retirement, i.e., special occasions only. Since that time, my Seamaster 300M GMT and 39mm Railmaster have been in every-other-day rotation. Well, although I'll miss the date on the GMT a bit, about a week ago I decided on the Railmaster for everyday wear. My decision was based on the size, weight and simple, elegant style of the Railmaster. Of course, since my favorite niece (15 years old) thinks the GMT is cool, I'll be sure I'm wearing cool when I see her. I've notice, too, that the Railmaster is even more accurate when it's worn everyday as opposed to every other day. Now, this is really cool . . . so I've been told . . .

Hey everyone, I picked up a Omega Seadweller PO today. I actually picked it over the SS Rolex Sub Date I was originally looking at. The Sub is a great looking iconic watch, but I already own a couple Rolex and the PO just smiled at me a little more.. For almost half the price, I think it's a great looking watch with an incredible movement. I love the all brushed look of the bracelet, although I do think the Rolex bracelets do have a nicer feel to them, even though i'm very happy with the Omega clasp. The anti glare crystal makes the dial very easy to see at all angles, and even though I was originally going to get the model with the black bezel and the orange 12, 6, 9, after seeing them in person I picked the all black. It's simple yet classy, which is exactly what I was looking for. The orange tip on the second hand still adds a splash of sportiness if that's even a word :) I've only owned my PO for a few hours now, but so far I am extremely happy with it. Seeking Advice Regarding a Patek
I'm an old retired guy who developed an irrational interest in watches only a few years ago. I'm not wealthy but I've managed to acquire two nice watches in the past two years, a stainless steel Breguet Marine and a rose gold JLC MUT Moon. Recently I've been strongly tempted by a yellow gold Rolex Day-Date but I've found it difficult to open my wallet that wide for a Rolex. I'm beginning to agree with my wife, who thinks that a YG Day-Date is too blingy for me. I think I might prefer to sell my JLC and replace it with a modest manual wind Patek Philippe. The PP models that appeal to me are the Calatrava 5119 (J or R) and 5196 (J or R) and the Gondolo 5124J. I love the art deco styling of the 5124J but would also be happy with either of the more traditional 5119 or 5196. Can you give me any advice regarding the relative merits of the three PP models I've mentioned?
