Porsche Design 1919 Datetimer Series 1 & 1919 Globetimer Series 1 Watches
Porsche Design is releasing their new 1919 collection, which will introduce the Porsche Design 1919 Datetimer Series 1 and the Porsche Design 1919 Globetimer Series 1 watches. The 1919 collection is Porsche Design's homage to the Bauhaus movement. For those not familiar, the Bauhaus movement placed great importance on the concepts of simplicity and functionality in design. Though it's a little early for the centenary celebration of the movement (that will be in 2019, if you couldn't guess by the name of the collection), Porsche Design has unveiled the two watches in this collection. What's interesting, though, is the fact that this is the kind statement that Porsche Design is choosing to make after their relationship with Eterna came to an end about a year and a half ago. Since then, they released the Timepiece No. 1, the name of which made clear that Porsche Design was?ushering in a new beginning for the brand. Now, they're not going in-house (in fact, they're using two different Sell
Franck Muller Conquistador Grand Prix Tourbillon Watch
It is pretty wild, and sort of ridiculous at the same time. Franck Muller pushes itself into the realm of luxury sport watch aesthetics. In a way, it feels like what Audemars Piguet did with the Royal Oak Offshore, only here with Franck Muller. This is the tourbillon version of the watch, but there is also a (much less expensive) chronograph version. It comes in titanium and Egral or rose gold. Over $100k, and massive in size.See my Franck Muller Conquistador Grand Prix Tourbillon watch article at Haute Living here.See Franck Muller watches on eBay here.See Franck Muller watches on Amazon here. My First Omega Speedmaster - Soyuz / Speediorite or Alaska Project?
Hi All,This is my first post and I'm relatively new to the forums (though I have been on here reading all the wonderful information that members post). Up until this year I have mostly appreciated nuce watches but never had the itch to purchase any. My everyday wear watch was a Swatch Bunnysutra STGK101 and it had a good run but then the watch bug bit. My first purchase towards the beginning of this year was the Omega James Bond LE Sea Master - 212.30.41.20.01.001 (full set with complete box and papers). Loved this watch as a daily wearer but then I thought to myself I need something for more formal occasions so next I picked up 2 Omega Aqua Terra's (1 black dial and 1 white dial - The AD was very convincing). Then while lurking on the forums here I came across the Omega Planet Ocean LiquidMetal Limited Edition - 222.30.42.20.01.001 and managed to purchase a complete boxed set. As most of you can tell by now, I love Omega's and I feel that my little Omega collection would not be comple
What's with speedmasters from Japan on eBay?
Hey all, I'm considering purchasing a speedmaster (one of the newer 3570.50). Anyway, I notice on eBay a large representation of seemingly like new examples for the best prices. They are all from Japan. Is this something to worry about? Anyone know what the situation is with that? Should I steer clear? Thanks in advance for your advice!
