Interview with Steve Laughlin of Benarus Watches
It's no secret that the Worn&Wound staff has enjoyed the watches created by Raven and Benarus, as well as their accessories division Suppa Parts. The affiliated companies (by partners Steve Laughlin and Ralf Schreiner) are known for watches that draw from past designs as well as looks that are very original. In the past, we've reviewed the Raven Deep, Raven Vintage, Raven Deep Tech, and Benarus Megaladon and have been generally impressed with the looks, finishes and technical achievements. We had the opportunity to ask co-owner Steve Laughlin, who is based in Overland Park, Kansas, about the past of Raven/Benarus/Suppa and where the companies are heading. As always, keep on the lookout on the Raven and Benarus websites for the latest news on their releases, as certain models tend to sell out quickly with a devoted fan base. How do you and Ralf come up with your designs, which are inspired by the past yet possess unique facets that make it distinctly yours?Ralf and I will discuss our
Breitling virgin
Hi guys.Have decided to treat myself and invest in a Breitling. Have been looking online for a while and decided on a Chronomat 44. Here in Oz the going rate seems to be around $12-$14k, whereas on chrono24 I've seen them listed around the $9kAUD. I know I'm up for import duty(GST) but still works out wau cheaper than buying it here. My question is am I asking for trouble buying off chrono24 etc? See link of the particular watch im interested

40mm Polar Explorer 10 year Service or Not??? Need advice......
Hi Guys!!! Just got a text back from AD saying the service starts at $700 and takes around 6 weeks. The thing is the watch is keeping time perfect, 1s in 64 hr as per right now, that's great IMO.....I got the watch 20/Feb/2008..........So the question is do I service the watch or not????I'm considering not, maybe have to send it....I've heard you have to service it while it works good and keeps time. Any suggestions????Here a Pic:Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Watches spotted in the wild
Since I became clued up on watches I tend to try and see what others may be wearing when out and about. My last contract had me passing through Central London and the most common Rolex watch I saw was a Daytona.Never saw a Hulk or an precious metal watches. And i've seen a single BLNR and a Sub.Most common watch in general tends to be an Apple WatchSo the question is, where are they all? Locked away as investments or never worn? I've only ever seen one other Hulk and that was in a AD.
