Urwerk UR-106 Lotus Is First Women's Watch From The Avant-Garde Luxury Brand
For 2015, Geneva-based avant-garde modern mechanical watch maker Urwerk presents their first ever watch for women in the Urwerk UR-106 Lotus. The Urwerk UR-106 Lotus will come in two limited edition models and follows an extensive "women in watches" marketing campaign by the brand. Let's just say that after talking about all the important female influence in and around the brand, the debut of Urwerk's first dedicated product for ladies was not a surprise.In some ways, the Urwerk UR-106 Lotus is a cliche, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. How is it a cliche? Well, on a very basic level, it follows a trend of watch makers, even in the niche part of the luxury watch industry, to now produce timepieces for both men and women. As if my post from yesterday wasn't good enough watchporn, here's more. This time the helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon with the Speedmaster 'Lunar Dust' on the wrist.

Ferrari and Patek
I'm kind of curious about the relationship between Ferrari and Patek. I was at the AD the other day getting familiar with setting the moon phase and the technician was telling me how Ferrari and Patek were discussing creating a watch for Ferrari but the negotiations fell through.He was saying that normally sub-dials are in the 3,6,9 position but Ferrari wanted the dials to look like their dashboard. So, Patek designed the Nautilus 5712 to Ferrari's request. Then things went south and their relationship soured. Since PP had the movement they decided to sell the 5712. Now I have absolutely no proof of this and neither did the technician but the dash of my 360 does look like the sub-dials of the 5712. Can any of you confirm whether this is true?

BLNR and SD43 in same collection
I own the BLNR and lately I find myself looking at more and more pictures of the SD43. I got my BLNR on my honeymoon and absolutely love the watch. It's a special watch to me so flipping it is not in the cards. I also have a Speedy Pro which I rotate with the BLNR. Could you find enough room in a small collection for both?
