Bomberg 1968 Review
Most brands that seemingly come out of nowhere tend to take a subtle approach to their entry into the watch market. An ad here, a viral campaign there, but not usually a full on marketing assault. Well, Bomberg, whom we ran a brief intro to not long ago, appeared out of the void and isn't taking a back seat on building brand awareness. In Basel this year, though they were not in one of the official halls, Bomberg managed to obtain adverts all over the city, including a full wrap around some of the trams that lead from the main train station to the BaselWorld convention center. And with one look at their watches and marketing materials, which include aggressive maxims and photos of tattooed boxers, you can tell that subtlety is not in their brand DNA.Yet despite this go-for-the-jugular approach, Bomberg does not plan on being available in the US in the near future. In fact, their current primary focus is on distribution in Central and South America. So, if you happen to live in the stat
Another incoming thread...sort of
A new baby at home coupled with a busy work schedule really cuts down on Rolex Forum time...I know I owe Thomas (TSW) and Connor (Steelerfan65) some wrist shots, which I am terrible at by the way.I picked up my first AP (Diver) back in June. I was thrilled to be in the club.I've always had a weakness for white dial chronographs and I have tried on the Safari while in Vegas a couple of times - I just loved it. I never thought I would be able to add it this soon.So a few weeks back I was able to add the Safari...Thanks again to DavidSW for another wonderful piece! The bad news...heading back to Vegas shortly...looking to shop for something 44mm or finally get to try on the white 15400...wish me luck!
PO in Mexico
Here are some photos I took while in Mexico last week. No photoshop here so I hope they look ok.
Happy wife ... Happy life
While on vacation last month, my wife was trying on a few different DJ31s. They didn't have a combination that she liked and they also were asking for $6350US (which I though was high). Came home and went to local AD. Wifey really wanted a white dial, tried it on and it didn't do it for her. Tried on a few more and this one really sang to her. I personally liked the fluted, blue dial w/ diamonds. She didn't like fluted and she didn't like diamond dial. As long as she is happy, now I have an excuse to buy myself something :) Price on watch was $7200 cad, got it for $6250 cad (about 13% off). Maybe I'll buy the fluted blue diamond dial one.And I did say make sure you don't drop it in front of me.
