Watch Shopping In Japan: Three F.P.Journe Boutique Exclusives In Tokyo, Including A Tourbillon Souve
I'm generally quick to answer when people ask me to name my favorite modern watch brands; without hesitation, the list includes F.P.Journe. This is not to say that I'm a fan of everything the brand produces, but I admire the way the manufacture applies a certainly polarizing and idiosyncratic design language consistently to every model in its range, from the most exclusive models to its entry-level pieces.More than one collector I have met has described F.P.Journe watches as "poetic" in both design and engineering, including a particularly memorable collector who, over glasses of rosé in the courtyard of the 14th-century Swiss château he of course redesigned himself, waxed lyrically about the peerless way the brand balances "technology and poetry" in its designs. (Bear in mind that this was during an event sponsored by another watch manufacture, but this was of no concern to him considering the elegant Resonance he sported on his wrist.)So, need

5726 likes / dislikes?
This is a model that seems to be more polarizing than I'd have thought. I've wanted a Nautilus for some time. I think an annual or perpetual calendar is the most useful complication. The moon phase is cool, and the dial is well balanced. So, why do so many not care for it? What do you dislike? I'm looking to be talked out of it, otherwise I'll purchase one next month.P.S. I have little interest in, and no use for, chronographs. So, a 5980 recommendation is not likely to sway me.P.P.S. I expect to buy a 5711/1r at some point too (on bracelet). Thanks!Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Newbie Patek discount question. Apologies.
I feel bad asking guys but I'm considering trying an aquanaut 5167 sometime this year and I have never negotiated on Patek. I know discounts on the 5711 are impossible (and the watch itself is impossible to find in Canada) but do you think 10% is possible on an aquanaut? Lets assume I have fairly good negotiating skills . I only ask so I have some idea of my range so I do not come off as rude / miss out on any potential savings. Finally, anyone know Canadian retail price for 5167?Thanks for any infoJosh
