Despite Poor Economic Conditions Why 2014 Saw Slight Increases In Swiss Watch Sales
via fhs.chCoverage of new watches and offering advice on how to better appreciate watches is incomplete without talking about the health and movement of the watch industry overall. 2014 was a really rough year for many markets, yet some luxury product makers saw record numbers in 2014. How does one explain this apparent contradiction? watches-dealer will republish a letter (below) sent to us by colleague and luxury industry economic consultant Mr. Frank Muller (not to be confused with the watchmaker Franck Muller) out of Dresden, Germany. Normally, we would offer his findings in our own words, but we couldn't really say it more succinctly, so we thank Mr. Muller for his permission. You can learn more or contact him via his consultancy The Bridge To Luxury. The answer whether in 2014 the glass of wine was half full or half empty for the luxury industry is a moot point. It was, indeed, a challenging year. Obviously, geo-political developments occurring in the Middle East, Ukraine, Hong Ko
Comparison Shots of Different Royal Oaks!!!!
I decided to post some comparison shots of different Royal Oaks as many of you ask frequently how big one watch wears compared to others. Here we have my Royal Oak ref. 15300ST (39mm), the ROO ref. 25721ST (42mm) and the ROO Diver ref. 15703ST(42mm). Regardless of the bad angle of my quick shots, it is very clear that the ROO Diver wears quite larger than the classic ROO because of its flatter bezel and the proportions of the dial.Hope this helps for comparison purposes with so many of you adding APs to your collections.
Omega Speedmaster 3570.50
Hello Friends,Does anyone know the strap size that I should be looking for to replace the bracelet on the above noted watch? I haven't received the watch, it's on it's way. Should have it on Tuesday. Also, show me some pics of the Omega on a strap? I've also posted this thread in the Omega section, but thought I'd get a quicker response here as some of you Rolex owners also own Omega's.Thanks in advance.
5205 - Why no love for this ref?
Hi All, I'm new to this forum and very much a novice when it comes to PP. I have however watched the 5205g for a while and while I really like the design and how it wears (even if a little thick). For me, it's the perfect 'young mans' annual calendar, the design is clean and modern. However I want to understand why the secondary market prices are so soft. What in your opinions is driving this? Why no love for this ref (I say no love given the soft resale value)? Is the design top far from what the purists want? Are the production numbers too high? Is is that the retail prices are really just gone way too far?All opinions appreciated.J
Rolex Submariner 16610 from 2005 question
Hello everybody,I recently bought a used 16610 witt Papers andere even a full revision at a Rolex retailer. The only thing is the printing on the Deal, which is kind of shiny/glossy wenn you move it in the light. Is this normal? Because the 116610 LV of a friend has a completely mat printing. Also the letters on my watch doesn't seem to be flatly printed on the Deal but more likely a little bit elevated like with 1mm thickness.I hope you understand what I mean and have a look on your 16610. I attached some pictures. Thanks!
