Omega Unveils New Limited-Edition Seamaster Diver for 34th America’s Cup
Omega commemorated the 34th America’s Cup sailing race, and celebrated its continuing role as Official Timekeeper for Emirates Team New Zealand, last week in San Francisco with the release of a special commemorative timepiece, the Omega Seamaster Diver ETNZ Limited Edition. The watch was presented to ETNZ captain Dean Barker, who has been an Omega “brand ambassador” since 2001, by Omega President Stephen Urquhart during a special event held at the ETNZ base camp in the City by the Bay. After the press conference and presentation of the watch, Team New Zealand launched its new ETNZ AC72 boat into the Bay for a training session.Omega’s association with Emirates Team New Zealand dates back to 1995, the last year that the Cup, the world’s most prestigious sailing race, was contested in the United States. Pequignet Moorea Triomphe Watches
Pequi-what? PequiGNET! You likely haven't heard of this brand as they haven't even looked in the direction of the US yet (as far as I know), but this France-based watch maker is one you should know about. They have a range of pieces with some unique styles. Some are their interpretations of other popular look, but all seem to have pretty nice values. Pequignet is also a true manufacture, and makes some of their own movements. For the rest they use Swiss-made ETA movements.First, the problems. Aside from not being available in the US, they have a name that sounds silly to US ears, and product names that follow suit. "Pequignet" looks about as fun to pronounce as "chartreuse." It sounds simple enough out loud, but the word itself is intimidating. These models for example are in the Moorea Triomphe collection. So I start this thread thread not long ago, about the possibility of of an IWC as a hold over for my super lusted after and coveted Royal Oak 15400.rolexforums/showthread.php?t=429249Since, especially with the great advice of all of you, I've decided to save for the 15400, as it is no secret, that is really and clearly the watch I really want.So I'm still a little ways away from the actual purchase, but the obsession is growing rapidly!Next question, what color is the best way to go. I am instinctively leaning towards a black dial, but the white dial is also amazing. I was also recently introduced the idea of going with the harder to find and more expensive boutique blue dial.What is your favorite color dial 15400, and why?
