Watches at Wimbledon: Who Wears What
As many watch aficionados and tennis fans know, some of the Wimbledon tournament’s biggest stars are also “brand ambassadors” for some watch brand or other. So which watch will we see on the wrist of the eventual men’s and ladies’ Wimbledon champs at the trophy presentation this year? We don’t know yet, but here’s a primer on which tennis players wear which timepieces.Swiss maestro Roger Federer, he of the record-breaking 17 Grand Slam titles, grew up in Basel, home to the world’s biggest watch fair. He’s also a discerning watch fan himself, and has been an ambassador for Rolex for several years, wearing a distinctive Rolex watch on many of the occasions he has hoisted a tournament-winning trophy. Lately, he has been partial to a platinum Cosmograph Daytona. Hulk for an Offshore Panda AP??
Hello all,I am not an expert in Ap's but i wanted to ask about the ability to use them as an everyday watch? would you go for the trade? Also, how durable are the leather straps? i live in an area with a lot of rain and snow, and so, i dont get worried with my Rolex Sub-C lv in these conditions?Sorry for the newbie type question, i would appreciate your points of view. Thanks
Which PO Next?
So, right now I have the black dial/silver numerals PO and I love it. The PO is one of my favorite watches on the market and I want to get another. So, should I get the white PO in the next month or so, or hold out, save up, and get the blue LM PO in a while? My problem is that the blue is cool, really awesome, but is it a $2400 premium cool? Thanks!!!
Obtained my grail!!!!....Warning, VERY PIC HEAVY!!!
Hi Guys, I've been hanging around the Patek Forum for quite some time and after seeing so many pics from Puffy, GeorgeAb, etc...I started to develop the notion that I may be able to swing a 5167A.So after months of looking, the always reliable, and my main-man, DavidSW came up big!Since pics are always worth a thousand words, I thought I'd take you guys all the way from the unboxing to the band sizing/adjustment:Here we go!!!! 1.) Arrival from DavidSW (it was 1130 at night and I'd just come back from Ireland but hardly could contain my excitement)5167 pic 1.jpg2.) Always wrapped like a fitted glove by DavidSW5167 pic 2.jpg5167 pic 3.jpg3.) The Patek box is extremely classy, excellent details.....you just know that these pieces are NOT mass produced 5167 pic 4.jpg5167 pic 5.jpg4.) Close up shot in the Patek box:5167 pic 6.jpg5.) A nice wrist shot WITHOUT the band sizing, you can see my left hand pulling the tropical band to approximate my size (yes I know I'm a RIGHTY wearer)5167
Bezel issue
Hi allRecently took a 1997 14060 sub in to RSC for service and they changed the bezel without telling me.Did not realise until I saw that the pearl lume was brighter. The watch has a tritium dial and now the pearl on the bezel looks out of place in the dark. Can I source an original bezel and pearl.???
