Mhle Glashtte Seebattailon GMT Review
One of the things that sets Mhle Glashtte's sport watches apart is that some of their designs are driven by collaborations with military/government groups with specific needs. A perfect example of this is with their S.A.R. Rescue Timer, which was designed with the needs and desires of Germany's S.A.R. teams, who needed a watch built like none other. The end result is a truly unique and robust timepiece that can more than stand day-to-day wear.At BaselWorld 2013, Mhle released a new collaborative piece, the Seebattailon GMT. Designed to suit the needs of the German Seebattailon (Marine Battalion), a unit within the German Navy that is regularly deployed around the world, the watch brings together many great features and a clean look. It's a 300m titanium GMT diver with Mhle's extensively in-house altered ETA 2893-2 movement inside. It's very lightweight for a large tool diver, thanks to the titanium, and has one of the nicest GMT dial executions around. It also has a very elegant pa
Ladies Nautilus vs. AP Royal Oak vs. ?
Its time to start thinking about the next purchase for the Missus (probably need to even up the watch count for the year before I float the next acquisition target).I'm thinking pink gold is the way to go and looking for something that is more sporty than her Twenty-4. The short-list is currently the 7011 women's Nautilus and the AP Royal Oak ladies, both bracelet versions.Which of these two would you pick? Are there any other models I should consider?
Are diamonds in vintage dealer add-on bezels larger?
First, hats off to Crown Collection for his consistently great contributions, furthering our collective knowledge on some arcane topics. In his thread in the reference section about authenticating diamond bezels, he discusses the diamond bezels that Rolex dealers stocked to up-sell customers. Specifically,18000 series men's day- date C 44 brilliants set in yellow gold (part code MBZ4488)44 brilliants set in platinum (part code MBZ4466). 46 brilliants set in white gold (part code MBZ4690)My question is, did these bezels have larger stones than the standard factory bezels (that would have come on a 18348 for example)? Or, in the case of the white metal bezels on YG watches, is it just an optical illusion that the diamonds are larger?Thank you.
I must admit...I'm confused
What are Rolex and Tudor doing? BB Fifty-Eight? I mean it's basically a re-do of the original Turdor Sub and a cheaper alternative to a Rolex Sub. And the Tudor GMT Pepsi? I mean...is this just a money grab since the recent boom in popularity of the GMT Pepsi? Further, I think it's silly for anyone to say the Sub is better. How better. $4k better for a SS model? Are the differences really that vast? Isn't it like comparing a car that goes 0-60 in 5 seconds vs. one that goes 0-60 in 4? How many people really need that 1 second? Can anyone say GMC and Cadillac? I guess there's a market for both...
BLRO 18K white gold blue dial?
Ok, I'm confused. So you can no longer get the BLRO 18K white gold with the traditional black dial? It's now blue? Does anyone like this? Can I just get a steel Pepsi with a black dial and an oyster bracelet already!!?? GEEZ!! 🤬
