Confrrie Horlogre Hublot Presents “Liberty”
When formerly high-flying Swiss movement manufacturer BNB Concept sunk under the weight of its accounts receivable in January, Jean-Claude Biver swung into action, bringing BNB’s managing director Mathias Buttet and about 30 of his watchmakers to Hublot. Biver also acquired BNB’s entire machine base. These decisive steps place Hublot among the few brands that can independently design and produce even the most complex movements in-house. The group’s first new creation was shown at Baselworld. While at BNB, Buttet launched Confrrie Horlogre, a brand designed to allow talented young watchmakers to create the timepieces of their dreams. This concept will continue under the banner Confrrie Horlogre Hublot, and at Baselworld the group unveiled “Liberty” or Autant en emporte le temps, a reinterpretation of the pocket watch in the form of a gun cartridge, housing a tourbillon. The piece can be worn on a bracelet or as a pendent. Technical specifications appear
Five Things I Want To See From The Watch Industry In 2011
While people struggled to make lists of what their favorite pieces of 2010 were, I started thinking about the future. Sure, 2010 saw its share of really great pieces, but I think there is a lot we can look forward to. For me, I think 2010 did a great job at offering pretty good sub $10,000 watches. Few new movements, less tourbillons, and less glam. Instead, we saw more innovation in materials, as well as "keeping it simple." I was also surprised at the number of new brands. Good watches in the $2,000 - $4,000 range were certainly present, but I wanted to see much, much more of them. The economy seems to be improving a bit, and China is quickly becoming the new mecca for luxury watch dollars.? Here are my top five things I want to see from the watch industry in 2011:1. Sober PricingWith more and more brands selling direct, the cost of business goes down as middlemen go away. This should allow watch prices to go down (a lot in theory). I would like to see watch brands offer better value

more info on Breitling Cockpit
Hello guys. Looking for some advise from breitling experts on this forum. I am looking to venture out to breitlings but was never able to come to terms with the big cases. My friend owns a Breitling cockpit which he bought in jan 2008 from an AD. He paid about 4K new and now wants to get rid of it. I really liked the MOP dial on this particular watch and also the fact that it is only 38mm and not so thick. What i want to know is a fair market price for this watch. If ever i want to sell it will i be able to sell it in a fair amount of time without taking a hell of a beating on the price. Please note that the watch in question is not the one in picture. The only difference is that it has a full 18k Rose gold bezel and indexes are also in 18kt rose gold. If i do end up buying it i will post pictures. Thanks
Just Arrived: My first Patek....Yes, it's an another....
5167I'm at the next phase of my horological experience or WISdom. What's better than to celebrate with a Patek! Here are a few quick observation from wearing it for the last 6 hours:+40mm on 7 1/2 wrist = Perfection!+The chameleon black/grey dial is unreal. Must have looked at the dial over 100 times today but still don't know what time it is.+The swooshing sound from the rotor is music to my ears.+Is it strange that I was smelling the strap during a meeting?+I can forget the Surefire flashlight. The lume will be sufficient to light my way in the dark.+Already have small scratch on the bezel. Hallelujah, now that's over with I can enjoy this watch. Every watch should come pre-scratched!
