Seiko Ananta Spring Drive Titanium Chronograph GMT Limited Edition Watch
2010 sees three new Seiko Ananta watch models. The fanciest and most exclusive of which is this great looking limited edition Spring Dive model in titanium. Functionally, it has the same Seiko in-house made Spring Drive 5R86 movement as last years Ananta Spring Drive Chrono GMT model - but this new version is in a 46mm wide titanium case with gold toned hour markers and hands. It is limited to just 150 pieces world wide.Titanium offers a new look and feel for Ananta. The weight of the watch is very light. Amazingly so actually. While the steel Ananta watches aren't exactly heavy given their size, the titanium case and bracelet feel like the steel model would if it was on the moon. Of course the color is a bit different and so is the finish on the case. Steel Seiko Ananta watches have Seiko's beloved "blade polishing." This high-grade polish doesn't exactly work the same on titanium, but at the same time, Seiko polished titanium very well. I recall when titanium was first used on watche
Kobold Polar Surveyor Duo On eBay ending Nov-21-07 09:41:48 PST: Two Gold Watches To Lust For
You don't often see watches like this in pairs, but up on eBay for sale are a couple of 18k gold Kobold Polar Surveyor watches. One is all gold with the lovely metallic blue Kobold face, and other other is gold with a alligator strap and a black face. The bands are obviously interchangeable. Kobold watches are rare in the watch world for being an American company. Based out of Philadelphia, they use mostly swiss components are designed to be very rugged and functional. Knowing their upmarket appeal, Kobold does offer some of its pieces in gold as these two are.A Kobold watch is meant to be fully functional and reliable and deep depths, and very cold temperatures. Their base Valjoux 7750 movements have been modified to include a AM/PM indication. The reason for this is that when you are exploring the arctic poles, the day and nights can be very long (months on end). When this occurs, you do not have the luxury of the day/night phase to know what time it is. Thus the AM/PM indicator prov
Pre-eminent Vacheron Constantin 222 by Gerald Genta
Since the beginning of my dependence on watch (to admit), I am a sucker for designs of Gerald Genta in the 1970s. Most of the time, I overlooked the Vacheron and drool on the photos of "his" Patek Philippe Nautilus, Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and IWC Ingenieur SL.
Chronometer certification with NEW Ceramic Sea Master 300m?
I purchased a new ceramic Sea Master 300m two days ago from an Omega AD and discovered yesterday that they had given me the plastic warranty card for a different serial number watch .That has all been sorted now, but thought I'd just check on here what cards should be with a new model Omega? They supplied me with the International Warranty Card and the Pictogram Card, but looking on the 'net some Omegas seem to come with a COSC card too?Do only the older models come with chronometer certification?Just want to make sure they've given me everything that they should've....Thanks!
Silly to own a 5167 and a 5164?
I'm thinking of trying to have my AD get me a 5167R (they don't have one right now). After seeing Ken's awesome photos! My question is...is it redundant to have a 5167R and a 5164A?...Any owners of both a 5167 and 5164 can chime in please with candid thoughts. I also have a 5712A...Those are my only sporty genta Pateks....
