Why We Love Grand Seiko: Timeless Luxury Watches Explains
Sponsored PostWhy Grand Seiko? That's probably the most common question we hear at Timeless. Grand Seiko is probably the single most disruptive brand in the entire luxury watch industry, and it seems like every watch collector has a strong opinion on the topic. We have an opinion on it too: we are obsessed with GS. In fact, we are so fascinated with the brand that we've written well over 20 articles about them, not including this one. We hang out on Seiko forums. We host parties with Grand Seiko where a master GS watchmaker assembles watches in front of an audience. We're even building an independent website that will be the ultimate resource for Grand Seiko and will put all information about the brand, past and present, into one convenient place. But that doesn't really answer the question. Why Grand Seiko? To really appreciate why we, and a huge number of other watch collectors, love GS, I think you've got to consider at least a few separate factors: the history, the movements, and th
Jean-Claude Biver Named Head Of Watchmaking At LVMH, Will Oversee TAG Heuer, Zenith, and Hublot
Jean-Claude Biver, current President of Hublot, will soon helm the entire watchmaking business at global luxury conglomerate LVMH. As of March 1, 2014, Biver will replace Francesco Trapani, outgoing head of Watches and Jewlery at the firm. Trapani will remain involved with the firm as an advisor to chairman Bernard Arnault, specifically on jewelry operations. Biver previously served as CEO of Hublot and was credited with leading the brand successfully through the recent economic recession in the late 2000s. The LVMH watchmaking division currently consists of three brands: Tag Heuer, Zenith, and Hublot.LVMH Chairman Arnault is confident in the ability of Biver to oversee this business, stating that "his entrepreneurial talent and creativity will add significant momentum to [LVMH's] other brands in the sector."
Any and all options for changing a gold (YG or RG) 39mm Chrono RO's band to strap?
Howdy all, I am in the market for a 39 mm rose or yellow gold RO chrono with a bracelet. I want the option to change from bracelet to strap. From reading a post or two I understand you need the end links and screws with caps for an aftermarket strap.... however, where do I get solid gold end links to connect from the case to the strap? Also, I need a clasp or deployment. I saw there is a conversion kit via the ap bands website for yellow gold models, but its 500 bucks and gold plated... not solid. Im not really interested in gold plated.Anybody have additional suggestions for aftermarket options for the links and clasp? Or anybody have an OEM version they are looking to sell? THANKS A MIL
Old Daytona for new Hulk ?
I just got my new SS Daytona with white dial last week . Love it . Makes me wonder how much wear my older Daytona will get now . Been eyeing the Hulk . Normally wouldn't even entertain the idea of flipping a Daytona for a sub but since I have the new one I'm tempted . I already have the new sub and love it also . Sure could use opinions as to what you would all do . Keep and have 2 White dial Daytona's or let old one go for the Hulk ? Thanks ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
