The New Louis Erard Excellence and 1931 Collections
Watchmaker Louis Erard founded his eponymous watch brand in 1931 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. Now based in Le Noirmont in the Jura Valley, the brand has reinvented its collections in recent years under new CEO Alain Spinedi, offering a focus on mechanical movements with classical complications (and a particular emphasis on regulators) at affordable prices. Here we present highlights from Louis Erard’s two major men’s watch collections, Excellence and 1931.The Louis Erard Excellence collection is considered the brand’s flagship, and one of its signature pieces is the new Excellence Automatic Regulator, the collection’s first regulator-dial timepiece with a self-winding movement (previous models had all been manual-winding). It has a contemporary 42-mm-diameter case (water-resistant to 50 meters) in polished stainless steel and is powered by the Sellita SW200 caliber with a Dubois De?praz 14072 module. The dial options are silver-tone (Ref. 86 236 AA 01, pic

Submariner vs GMT
Finally in the market for a new Rolex. I purchased my first one in 2001, a stainless and silver dial Datejust with a smooth bezel, when I got my first well paying job (I was 26) with the intention of keeping it forever and passing it along to my son when I had one someday. Well forever was shortened when it was stolen from my home (long story) in 2013. The Datejust garnered a lot of attention so I also purchased a Tag Monaco WW2110 as well as a Tag Monaco Steve McQueen Calibre 11 boutique edition as well both of which which I still have. My homeowners insurance paid for the stolen Datejust I never replaced it. Fast forward 17 years later and I finally have my 9 month old son and want another Rolex to pass down to him. I am deciding between a Submariner 116610, 114060 16610 (2001 same year as my first Rolex) or GMT 116710 black (I know Batman is more desired but don't care for the black blue combo), 16710 Pepsi circa 2001 as Magnum PI was my favorite show as a kid and is responsible fo
Correct way to pull the rolex crown?
Hi everyone. Was wondering if there is a correct way to pull the crown to adjust the date/time. I have a new dj 116234 and maybe am too delicate/scared to pull the crown. I can't seem to pull it in the second position (date position) very easily. I get it in the 3/4 th attempt. So I am doing something wrong? Am I supposed to use force or should it be easy? Is the crown a bit stiff since its a new watch?I use my thumb and index finger against the case to pull. Is this correct? Please help me to do it the correct way. Thanks
Decision time! Help needed!
Hi All,I am in the process of purchasing my first house, therefore I need to liquidate some money to help and have decided to sell my two Rolex's, my 116520 Daytona and 16610 Sub.In doing so I need to replace both watches with one... here lies my problem. To give you some background info, I have had in the past, a 116233 and 116610LV along side these current two watches.I am torn between the following (baring in mind this will now be my only watch in collection for the next couple of years minimum):116613LB116710BLNR116622 Rhodium DialI love all of them for different reasons but am torn between them. Also something to mention; I would have to pay over list for the BLNR but under for both the others. Your help and advice is greatly appreciated!C.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
