Seamasters in Key West-Bezel Fade
I did not realize how badly my bezel had faded in just two years of use until I walked into an AD and held a new 2225.80 up next to mine.Pretty disappointed in the bezel fade. Anyone else have this issue?Anyway, recent photos from flight to Key West.
Watch Insurance
Hello everyone,Does anyone have experience with insuring your Patek in Asia (HK)? Any advice on the claims process would be very much appreciated.Thank you
Platinum vs. White gold vs. steel
This may seem like an obvious and simple question (and maybe it is), but I wanted to know if I am missing anything. Cost differences ignored, is platinum always the preferred choice? All else being equal, I would think a platinum cased watch would be everyones first pick. I'm curious to know if anyone here would not agree with that statement.....and why. Thanks in advance for your comments.

I've been thinking about getting my first Patek. Since I already have several other 3 hand watches as well as an Explorer II & GMTIIC, the 5167, a great watch by the way, would not be different enough for me. I very much like the moon phase & small seconds complication as well as the very thin case and alligator strap with fold over clasp. For those of you who own or have owned this watch, what are your likes and dislikes?
Advice on how to buy a Patek
Hello,I am looking to buy a Patek for myself fairly soon... probably a ?20k-?30k model depending which model I decide to go for, deciding between the more dressy sans-complication, calatrava or a slightly less elegant, but more exciting annual calendar.I saw that a couple of retailers can sell to me tax-free (20% VAT taken off) so long as I am having it shipped to an address in Switzerland, which I could do... though it would be a hassle as I live and work in London! Alternatively Watches of Switzerland offer interest free finance for up to 3yrs... which on a ?20k watch is quite valuable and is more convenient for me. I always buy my Rolexes in the 2nd hand market, but the market doesn't seem to be so big for Patek... not the newer models in any case, and the discounts are not even that great. As such I'm looking for advice of the best way to purchase a Patek, go for the VAT-free way, take interest free credit or try and sit it out for a used deal to come up... or indeed any other solut
