Watch Experts Network: ‘Photo-Essay: Weekend in Tuscany with Tudor & Ducati’
As Tudor & Ducati teamed up for the Fastrider we were invited to join them on a fast paced weekend in Tuscany Italy. Shortly after flying into Italy we find ourselves at the Ducati headquarter in Bologna where it all started for them. Here we were welcomed for a presentation about Ducati and continued with museum visit and factory tour (sorry, strictly no photos) afterwards.Study models of the Ducati Panigale super bike. In the background a model that is (partially) made in clay with some road use components.Besides all the obvious motorbikes that are on display they also have a few display cases with electrical components as this is what Ducati actually started building in the early 30's of last century. It wasn't until 1946 that they started working on engines for bicycles, followed by motorbikes. The rest is history including the many prices they have won over the years. The Cucciolo, an engine that could be mounted to existing bicycles.During lunch we join the Tudor & Ducati
Breguet Creates Unique Rveil Musical Watch for Only Watch 2011
Breguet presents a unique creation specially made for Only Watch 2011. A patented music box-type mechanism enables this one-of-a-kind white gold Rveil Musical watch to play a unique tune, Castle in the sky, either on demand or at a pre-set time. An original dial bearing a child's hand completes a full rotation to touch the adult hand appearing on the flange, symbolizing inter-generational solidarity and support for research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy. A complete description appears below the image, which may be enlarged with a click.Case: Round in 18k white gold, case band engraved with a musical stave. Diameter: 48mm. Caseback personalized for Only Watch 2011 and engraved “piece unique”.Dial: Rotating hand-guilloche dial featuring a child’s hand outstretched toward that of an adult appearing on the flange. Individually numbered and signed Breguet. The dial center makes a complete turn when the striking mechanism is activated. The mechanism plays the tune A Castl
Sporty German Diver: Limes 1 Tausend GMT Diving Watch Available Right Now
A while ago I mentioned the new Limes Endurance 1 Tausend Diver watch that was due for release soon. The watch had a wonderful Germanic utility feel to it, and I looked forward to seeing one. The Endurance was a deviation on the existing Limes 1 Tausend (one thousand, as in the depth rating), which is pictured here. This particular watch has an automatic ETA 2893-2 movement, that includes the GMT complication. The dedicated GMT 24 hour hand is nicely done with a large red arrow providing nice visibility, without being too distracting. Actually, this is one of the clearest GMT diving watches I have seen.Limes, like Sinn is a maker of high quality, but aggressively prices German "sport" watches. One thing that makes Limes a bit unique is the fact that they make all their own cases. Most smaller watches companies essentially source most of their parts. This is not a problem, but Limes takes great pride in constructing well-made cases fit for their watches.Although 1000 meter watches are be
Which blue dial ROC?
I'm looking to add a blue dial watch to my collection preferably a chrono, and even-though I have always wanted the Panda ROC, since I already have a Daytona Panda WG which I can not see myself let go, I was thinking of a blue dial ROC instead. Stuck on these two dials though. I have never seen them in person so it's very hard to decide...The all blue dial and blue sub dials has all white markers and hands, very nice contrast. The second one has a silver finish around the markers and hands, and adds the orange which mixes well.Tough choice
size request
Hi Gentlemen,I need some size request ..I'm thinking to buy a MS Ti ROO, but because my wristsize is only 17cm, but rather flat (6.5 - 6.7 inches), I was not sure if I could pull it off.So I went to a store who had the GP in stock. So if I could handle the GP, I think I can have the MS, as both are the same size.I took some pictures ... my girlfriend said it was ok for my wrist (but could not imagine why the hell I could give that amount of money to a watch like that . I told her she will never understand this, because that's a men's thing what do you guys think ?
