Three On Three: Comparing The Patek Philippe 5170G, The Vacheron Constantin Harmony Chronograph, And The A. Lange & S?hne Datograph Up/Down (VIDEO)
There is something special about a hand-finished, manually wound, in-house chronograph. It is a category that houses so many of the timepieces to which so many of us aspire to own – and today we will compare three of the very best available in the world today. This original HODINKEE Three On Three pits heavyweight contenders from A. Lange & Söhne, Vacheron Constantin, and Patek Philippe against one another in several categories: design, finishing, wearability, and collectibility. The thing about this comparison is, quite simply, there is no wrong choice – we purposefully selected the finest manually wound chronographs we could think of – all priced similarly – to be able to highlight each watch's strengths and weakness, of which there are many.Have a look at our video first and then read on for the details of these three incredible timepieces. First Post - Just a few Q's
Hey guys i've loved Breitlings for a long time and usually don't wear watches at all.. But i'm single was nerdy for most of my life and have a few extra dollars to throw around for a nice watch... i've been reading posts from 2006 and on, and am getting kinda confused on what i really want now. So here it goes.. I need a nice everyday watch that i will take off while working at my restaurant or my other desk job(yes 2 jobs :), (some customers dont like to see you wear nice things) But that can take a beating, meaning that i know how much it costs BUT i really don't care if i nick a doorway and hit the band, and to also not fall apart if i do hit something. No diamonds or blinged out.. but a watch that people will think it's nice.. BUT then say... OHHHHHHH it's a breitling... or ohhh it s a rolex? niiiiice. I figure i'm single have a good job.. why not.. stop spending it on gadgets (chicks don't dig it as much lol)Im thinking of starting out used as i haven't worn a watch in about 8 yea
Buying Omega PO in Toronto/Canada
Hi Everyone,I've been out of the game for a while, but lately I've been itching to pick up a PO (SS or Titanium).I was hoping if anybody can provide me with some recommendations of some Canadian/Toronto ADs. I know Alberta has a low sales tax, but I'm not sure if any of the ADs are willing to ship to Ontario/Toronto.It seems like Omega has really tightened it's pricing over the years.I would appreciate any help you may provide.Thanks.
Two tone 5980... Hit or miss?
Hi guys. Stumbled across this piece on Saturday. What do you guys think? Tacky or classy?
Rolex Sport Model Shortage
Back when I purchased my no date SS Sub in July, I thought the dealers were bluffing when they said it was going to be impossible to get a SS Sub by the latter part of the year. Well, it turns out maybe they were right. My friend here in Dallas has been trying to get one, and after calling all the dealers within 100 miles, no luck. They have told him it could be Feb/March before they are available again.Crazy. Guess that means ours have gotten at least a temporary bump in value
