A. Lange & Sohne Germany Visit Trip Update: Winter Watch Wonderland
I am in Germany maybe 10 minutes and the signs of watch insanity are in my face. On my 4 hour layover in Munich to Dresden I am surprised to see that Munich's domestic terminal is basically one big watch store. There is a huge open watch store in the middle with tons of rare brands, and those that you don't even see in America at all, such as Certina and Union Glashutte. There is certainly an air of haute horology already. The first picture is of a magazine and gift store display. They actually highlight their collection of watch magazines! This is just too much good stuff, and I am on my way to being prepared for A. Lange & Sohne's upcoming spectacular display.I spent most of my first day in Glashutte where A. I just received this piece yesterday and am blown away. It was always on my radar but had never seen the SS Version in person and always ended up buying Rolex and Patek. When they discontinued the 15305 and switched to the 41mm Double Balance Wheel, I was a bit disappointed and shifted my efforts towards acquiring the newer model but quickly realized I had a snowball's chance in hell of getting one anytime soon. LOL! My wrist is 6.6 and the 39mm RO is definitely the better fit for Me so in the end it all worked out how it was supposed to. Thanks to everyone for the enabling. IMO, It is definitely a strange time in watch collecting. 2-3 years ago Nautili, Aquanuats, Royal Oaks, and SS Subs were all attainable and often times accompanied with a small discount. Now these pieces are available in limited supply and many seeking crazy premiums. It seems as though everyone is looking for the same 10-15 models and the rest of the stuff in the watch industry they just cant give away.

Datejust on Leather?
Hey guys,What are your feelings on a Datejust with leather strap?To be honest, at one point I never used to care much for leather straps, but in recent years I’ve really grown to love them.. even prefer them in many cases to a metal bracelet. I have a TT Datejust with an ivory white dial and jubilee bracelet. It looks gorgeous as it is, but I just have a feeling that it might look great on a nice brown leather strap.. even if it’s just for a temporary or occasional change. I was just wondering what others might think of this idea, and even better still, possibly some inspirational pictures? Russ
