a little something to read from the Govberg site
Hi, I was alerted to this article from the Goveberg iPhone app. I thought others might enjoy..govbergwatches/dont-b...ar-your-watch/
Water resistance of older Seamasters.
I've been looking at some of the 60s-70s Seamasters as a first foray into expensive watches (Hey, no laughing- I'm coming up from Invicta!), but I have one simple question. Is there a central chart or something where I can find what water resistance rating the older Seamasters had? I'd imagine not much, but it would be nice to know if I could leave it on when washing my hands.
Please share your thoughts... 5146
Hello everyone...After months and months of trying to make time... find time... then find and AD to try on all the different colour and variants of the 5146 I think I am finally ready to pull the trigger on one! But I can't decide on the gold! YG vs RG!!!My thoughts and concerns...I love the brilliance of the YG... it really stands out... But is it pass?I did finally try on the RG... it is very beautiful indeed! I love the warm tones of the RG... but will this RG stand the passing trends of the future? Please share your thoughts...Yellow Gold...Rose Gold...
is 19 too young for a Patek?
Do you think 19 is too young for a Patek Philippe? I am thinking about giving my son a Patek Gondolo for his 19th birthday. He is a very mature and responsible 19 year old, I should add, and he also has an appreciation for fine watches. I tried to steer him towards Rolex, but he seemed to really like Patek, since they are more non-chalant and of higher quality. So what do you think, 19 is too young? Is there a right age for owning a fine timepiece such as Patek?
Former AD Ask Me (almost) Anything
After having lurked a bit on this forum I thought it would be nice to perhaps give some insight into the industry from an AD's perspective. Title says it all. I have worked for several AD's so any questions feel free to ask and Ill try to answer them as honestly as I can. Due to obvious privacy related issues won't disclose names, companies and locations.
