VIDEO: The HODINKEE 2015 Year In Review
Well, it’s that time of year again – when we collectively sit back and reflect on all that has transpired over the last 12 months. So to help you remember the year in watches, we put together our annual video highlight reel, just as we did in 2013 and 2014. This is the year we sat down with mega-collector Jason Singer for an episode of Talking Watches, traveled to Japan to visit Seiko, followed each step in the making of F.P. Journe’s most complicated watch, gave the Omega Speedmaster the Reference Points treatment – and much, much more.In addition to the video above, each full-length episode can be found below. So, in no particular order, please sit back and enjoy the HODINKEE video highlights of 2015. Talking Watches With Matt Jacobson 1 OF 21 Matt Jacobson is the type of guy who doesn't need to live in Silicon Valley with the rest of his world – he is the head of Market Development for Facebook – or in Beverly Hills with t
1947 Breitling Datora rescue!
Dear Friends, here's a 785 I chanced upon with a rare dial configuration with gold dot markers on the dial. I initially wasn't sure about this configuration so contacted knowledgeable forum friends who confirmed it was all original. I then came across some advertisements (seen in pics) showing the same dial configuration and knew I had to breathe life into this watch. Off it went to a known vintage Breitling repairer who did his best to preserve this watch for the future. Offcourse the dial does show it's age so not much could be done about that but he put in plenty of effort into getting the movement and parts working again besides some other essential repairs. Hope you enjoy the pictures. Before PicsAt the SpaAfter Pics
Love worldtime
It tooks me many years to collect these pieces(5131G, 7175R, 5575G and 5131R). Just do not know how to describe how much I love them.I hope I take better photos this time. I can't tale four pieces together because they live in two countries.68s.jpg45s.jpg61s.jpgT1s.jpgT7s.jpgT10s.jpgT11s.jpg
New PAM?
Thinking about picking up one of the following. Any thoughts from the group are appreciated! 372, 422, 510 or 514. Wrists are 7.25 but kinda feel the 47mm is a bit big. Really like the 510 but love the brownish dials, markings of the others. Good problem to have, I know. Thanks! Any wrist shots are welcome.
116333 Wimbledon dial
When was the Datejust II 116333 Wimbledon dial produced? I have a 116333 with no papers and just figuring out how old it could be.
