Swiss Watch Exports Decline Again, Reaching 2006 Level
The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry has released Swiss watch export figures for September, 2009, and the downward trend continues. The value of Swiss watch exports fell by 26.1% to 1.1 billion francs. Overall exports are down 25.9% for the first 3 quarters of 2009. Swiss watch exports have now retreated to their 2006 level. Watches manufactured from precious metals suffered the steepest declines in value terms in September, while the downturn was less severe for bimetallic timepieces. The number of timepieces exported suffered particularly badly, falling by nearly a million units in one month. Steel and the category of other materials had a markedly negative effect on results. Since the beginning of the year, exports have registered a shortfall of 5.1 million watches. For wristwatches costing less than 200 francs (export price), the number of pieces exported fell by half in September, generating a deficit of 890,000 units. The 200-500 franc segment performed much better, register
Attend The Ohio NAWCC Watch And Clock Show On May 18th
We fully support the mission of the National Association Of Watch And Clock Collectors (NAWCC), which is to spread the word about watches (and clocks) and get more people interested in them. On May 18th in Ohio they are having their North Coast Regional Watch and Clock show. Basically you go there to buy, sell, and appreciate lots of different watches and clocks. Deals are to be had, and there will be lots of vintage pieces. Of course you need to be in the Cleveland area to participate, but if you are then you should stop by. It only costs $5, and that price helps keep the association going strong.Details about the show direct from NAWCC below...Details from NAWCCNorth Coast Regional Watch and Clock ShowSaturday, May 18, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 12 noonWhere: Lakeland Community College, Kirtland, OH, Cleveland area, just off I90 at SR 306 exitAddress: 7700 Clocktower Blvd., Kirtland, OH 44094Price: Admission is $5.About: Buy rare timepieces, get expert advice and browse 100 to 200 tables of

How often is servicing required and what's the cost...give or take? Thanks!
Has anyone owned both the Pelagos and Black Bay?
I want to know even though the Pelagos is thicker and chunkier than the BB, since it's wider, does it feel more proportional? From what I remember the Pelagos seemed more comfortable and it didn't seem as blocky. Thanks.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
