This traditional column wheel chronograph measures 40mm in diameter and displays elapsed time via a central chronograph seconds and 30 minute counter. The dial includes a tachometric scale. Does Rolex make its own steel?
I've heard for years that Rolex has its own foundry, and makes its own 904L stainless steel. However, I was reading an article on Deployant, written in 2016, and they said the following:Although Rolex is one of the few watch companies to own and operate their own metal foundries, the in-house foundry is used to make precious metals like their proprietary Everose gold. Steel, especially the 904L used by Rolex exclusively in all their stainless steel products is so specialized that it is made by from a supplier. The supplier works under strict specifications from Rolex.This was news to me, and I don't know whether it's correct or not. Does anyone have any input?

116619LB with diamonds
I'm trying to determine if the Smurf with diamonds was an official creation by Rolex and if so from when to when. I'm being told that there is a brand new one 2016/2017 model available. When I spoke to my AD they tell me they haven't been made in years.Can someone help me out?Thanks!B
