Christophe Claret Aventicum Watch With Mirascope Dial
For 2015, the newest watch from Swiss watch maker Christophe Claret is the Aventicum, and it celebrates ancient Rome. I've said more than one time that the culture and architecture of ancient Rome (just like art deco) doesn't get represented in watches enough. Well, Romanophiles rejoice, because Mr. Claret has you in mind, and this is actually among his least expensive timepieces. It took me a little while of reading about the Christophe Claret Aventicum to really understand it. Christophe Claret is a master of the complicated and recently released the Blackjack 21 and Poker watcheswhich do just what it sounds like - they allow the wearer to mechanically play a game of blackjack or poker on their wrists. So what would a "Roman complication" be? It turns out, Christophe's idea is an optical illusion known as a mirascope. While I didn't know the term mirascope previously, like many people, I was familiar with what they actually are. In the Christophe Claret Aventicum watch, the mirascope s
luxurious Cartier Ballon Bleu Watch
Blue ball of Cartier has takes its name from the Sapphire cabochon Crown, which is incorporated in its rounded case. The rounded watch is available in 19 in three sizes 42, 36.5 and 28.5 mm and 18 K White, pink or yellow gold and stainless steel with 18 carat yellow gold. The movement is the automatic calibre of Cartier 049, it was Sapphire and the dial has a subtle "C" motif. Women's models are available with diamonds on the bezel and dial.
New arrival... succuming to temptation....
As some of you know, I've been thinking of a certain watch for awhile and while I tried very hard to prevent myself from purchase, it finally happened today... I have no one to blame but myself... Without further adieu, say hi to my Extra Thin Tourbillon! It's mesmerizing!
Which Calatrava?
Hello,I am looking to buy my first Patek (being a Rolex guy for many years). I decided to go with a rose gold Calatrava. However, I cannot choose between these 3 models:1. 5123R2. 5127R3. 5296-010RAll 3 have similar dials and hands. However 5123R is a manual movement and was just released this year in Basel but has no date. I want to ask your advise and comments about these 3 watches. Also conc and pros between a manual wind 215 movement versus 324 automatic. The 324 automatic looks nicer to me but may be the manual wind is more robust. Also the 5123 has a snap back while the automatics have a screw in back, which is probable and advantage. Greatly appreciate your comments!
Sea Dweller advice
Hi, I am looking for advice on purchasing a preowned seadweller. My budget would be $5500-5800 US. Is this reasonable to expect, and if so what year, serial number, and condition should I look for? Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
