Panerai Radiomir Composite Marina Militare 8 Giorni
Panerai's Radiomir Composite Marina Militare 8 Days combines state-of-the-art technical innovation and deep-rooted history in an attractive and distinctive package. The technical innovation is found in the material from which the case is fashioned. The Panerai composite is a material is the result of an electrochemical process of ceramization of aluminum. This material is harder than the ceramics normally used for cases in watch-making (zirconia), and also harder than metals like steel and titanium, as well as being lighter. Thanks to its qualities of ductility and reliability, the Panerai composite allows for complex and extremely precise workings and is the result of processes that, up to now, were employed in the creation of components for the aeronautic industry and for car and motorcycle races requiring the highest levels of performance.Aesthetically, the Radiomir Composite is a mono-color matte deep brown. Though very high tech, the case and dial have an appropriate, historic loo
The Seven Best Watches Of 2015 That You Probably Forgot About
For the past few years, it seems like we've seen a new watch announced every day of the week – doesn't it? It does to us, and we do our best to only show you the finest watches out there – the watches worth knowing about. But we've still seen so many new introductions this year – and some of them have been huge, like Tudor's Black Bay Black, Patek's enamel dialed, split-seconds 5370, AP's new perpetual calendar Royal Oak, JLC's ticking Geophysic, and, of course, Vacheron's 57260, the most complicated watch, ever. But, there have been some absolute gems that came out this year that we've absolutely loved – but that didn't receive much fanfare from the masses, and in some cases, went totally under the radar. Here we'll show you seven watches introduced in 2015 that are absolutely awesome, though you likely forgot about them. 1. The Rotonde De Cartier Chronograph 1 OF 8 What Is It?I say this every tim
New AP ROO Owner - Some Questions
Bought my first AP from SohAIS AIS Watches and am excited to get it tomorrow - Aamir has been great to work with! It's the ROO 25940SK.OO.D002CA.03 Black Dial. Quick questions for everyone:What watch winder do you recommend for the watch and the appropriate settings?Would you only get the watch serviced at the AP Boutique (I'm in NYC so lots of options)? What's the best way to clean the rubber band and also rubber bezel? The band is relatively cheap ($300) but not sure if AP replaces the bezel as well when serviced.Last question, promise - to ensure the watch is water proof and keeping accurate time do you recommend taking it to AP or a place such as Tourneau. AP said they'd need to send it out and it could take a few weeks.Best,Scott
In honor my late father, my new Rolex
I'm not usually one who refers to certain Rolex watches by nicknames such as Hulk and Batman. But I now have a new piece in my collection that will proudly refer to as Kermit.I don't know why I didn't pursue one of these watches previously. I very much liked them but didn't see myself owning one. But after meeting a gentleman on a cruise ship recently who was wearing one and having a conversation about it and then also perusing the many photos on this forum and elsewhere for months, I decided I had to have one to join my GMT BLNR, Daytona Ceramic and SubC Date. So yesterday it arrived and I love it. I've had other Rolex watches come and go also, but this one shall not leave. So why does it honor my late father? Well, you see my father's name was Kermit. In fact, my middle name is also Kermit. So yes, this is definitely a watch I should own. It's an unusual name, yes, but a very personal name for me - not just a green muppets character. And when I wear it I will always think of
