Oris Rallies Up A New Limited Edition RAID Watch For 2013
When it comes to auto racing, you don't find much of it on TV outside of standard NASCAR and drag racing (at least not here in the States). Many years ago though, I discovered the sport of rally racing, and I was hooked. There's just something fun about watching cars racing against the clock, sliding through (generally) unpaved surfaces. And that's the sport that this Oris model is commemorating - rally racing. But it's not just any rally, it's the RAID Suisse-Paris, which features classic cars taking a 600-mile route starting in Basel, and finishing in Paris. Oris has been the official timekeeper of the race since 2009, and has released a new watch for the race each year since. This year's model is honoring the winner of last year, a Jaguar 420.Via WUSThe Oris RAID 2013 Limited Edition honors that car by virtue of styling on the dial which is inspired by the dashboard of the Jaguar. It also incorporates other elements of the 420, such as the red triangle and the fonts. To me, it's a cl
What a watch!!!
Hi all,Being lurking on this site for some time researching all things Rolex and Omega and thought that I should at least take the time to say hello. I took the plunge last year and in deciding between the iconic no-date sub and the equally iconic speedy pro, I decided on the latter. That was a year ago and after purchasing a couple of additional straps, mesh band, and a few nato's I must confess I couldnt be happier. What a multi faceted watch! It can lend itself to any situation. I've worn it pretty much every day, from office work, ultra running, motorbiking in India, its never missed a beat. A fantistic timepiece.... and yet I still want a no-date sub. This is a great forum and I'm glad I said hello
A Treasured Patek C Stolen Long Ago C Can Archive Records be Retrieved?
My father-in-law Mike bought a simple manual wind Patek while traveling in Switzerland with his wife in the 1950s. My wife, then of school age, remembers the pride with which her dad displayed his new Patek after his return home. Mike wore that Patek for years and he was still wearing it daily in the early 2000s. I doubt that his Patek was ever serviced. Sadly, Mike's treasured Patek was stolen in about 2004, a year before Mike's death. My wife and I were clueless about fine timepieces and we had no idea at the time that the watch may have been registered in the Patek archives.I have only a vague recollection of Mike's watch but would guess it was a member of the Calatrava 96-series. I wonder if it would be possible to find a record of Mike's watch in the Patek archives. And, although we would be unable to claim the watch today, it would be interesting to learn if Patek has serviced Mike's watch in recent years. Can the Patek archives be searched with only the original watch own

Chrono buttons hard to push on Luminor 121
First day with my preowned Luminor 121 and I love it. I have a gray strap incoming which should look awesome with the gray dial. My question is should the chronograph activating button be hard to push because mine is? It seems like the crown guard gets in the way a little bit. All of my other chronos are significantly easier to activate. Thanks!
